Skywest...

Heard some news today from a very reliable source on the line....anyone else heard it too? I dont want to spill the beans first.

With a setup like that, I can't see how this "news", whatever it is, can be anything but absolute truth tantamount to holy writ. A "very reliable source", you say? Well, say no more! I am standing by to swallow whatever it is you are about to say without the slightest compunction. Roumot me up baby!

However, the Canadian spelling derivation, "Roumot", is acceptable in some circumstances as well.

My opinions are based on SEC filings, analyst research, market opinions, Ream's responses, Kellner's comments, Union comments, Union meetings I took place in in CLE/ONT/LAX, in-depth financial analysts of ExpressJet's financial positions, and SG&A as described only to be transcribed in technical analysis reports. My favorite was recently done by Black Box Investing. It's 20 pages or so examining their profitability, positions, contracts, ect. If you have $25 and a few hours, I'd suggest it. In essence Matt, my opinions are well supported.

There's no doubt about the sensitive meetings and material. I am involved and have been involved in such meetings and decisions of a very similar nature (although different industry) in many cases. However, don't kid yourself. Much can be derived from the mandatory disclosures with respect to a publicly held company.

Thank you for proving my point. So with all your research, if your estimations and opinions about the future of ExpressJet are wrong, then really, how much do any of us here know? Isn't it all just our opinion? I've always held the opinion that ExpressJet will not go bankrupt, and even if we were forced to furlough, we are better to go at this alone rather than with SkyWest. But that is just based on my own personal research, and talking with my union and management.

Plus, you have been around long enough to realize that management publishes statements with a specific goal in mind.

I loved working at Express. I have zero need to "rationalize" my decision for leaving. Financially it made zero sense to stay. If a several hundred thousand dollar job looked you in the face, allowed you to stay at home, be awarded a management position, stock options, and still had time to flight instruct at a great school with some great part 91 and 135 opportunities, I doubt you would've stuck around yourself. Not to mention that I am not willing nor ready to sell my houses, cars, and other items my family has always known.

I don't fault you for leaving ExpressJet. Heck, I'm trying to leave myself. I just don't understand why, after leaving, you feel the need to remind us that we will furlough and are in trouble. That's all.

Merit has a multi-hundred-thousand-dollar-a-year-job yet he spends his free time on here...talking about aviation. Not a slant against merit, but it just goes to show how strong aviations' pull is.

It would appear, then, that his decision to leave was more than simple economics, else why would he contiunally seem to take such seeming delight in manufactured fantasies about bad tidings at ExpressJet? Perhaps he's embarassed and ashamed of something that happened, and this is his outlet? Of course, this is pure conjecture. But it does fit the evidence, and neatly at that.

But who knows? Who knows? There are people in this world that deride every place that they have ever left, regardless of why they left. Merit may simply be one of these people.

When did you stop beating your wife?

When did you stop beating your wife?

Wrong analogy. Had you said: "I noticed that you claim to have had an amicable divorce from your wife, yet you badmouth her at every turn. It seems your divorce was not entirely amicable. What then, was the real reason for your break up?", you would have more closely hit the mark.

For what it's worth though, I do understand what you were trying to say.
