Airways Pilots not game for another merger?

I met a Airways West 757 FO on the way home the other day. She spoke to me and since she was one attractive aviatrix, she had my rapt attention. Within 30 seconds she had erupted into this diatribe about USAPA and UAL merger. Suffice it to say she was "agin it". I had visions of her wielding a knife ala Lorena Bobbit. Scared me to death. so anecdotally, i would say their is some reluctance amongst the rank and file.

I bet all this just makes typhoonpilot smile and be happy he left. It just never ends in this industry in the good ole US and A.

Sexy time!

Not only do Airways pilots not want a merger, neither do the UAL pilots. Fact. If these groups don't want it, it will not happen. And Airways is in much better financial position than many other majors including UAL. As sad as it is, I believe we will see UAL bleed out and go out of business long before Airways does.

I appreciate your passion, but if the two boards want to merge, they're going to merge, with or without the blessing of labor.

Delta pilots don't want a merger, all of the unions at NWA don't want a merger, but guess what? Delta acquired NWA thru a stock swap.

All I know about this is what I hear from my jumpseaters, and true, if management wants it to happen it certainly will...

I am always on the side of pilots.

Nothing can stop management from taking their ball, and going home in a golden parachute if labor doesn't want to play by their rules.

You hear guys say we'll take this company into the ground, that's what they mean, and there are plenty of jobs in the U.S. and abroad.

Airline history is full of more shotgun weddings than Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama put together. Well, maybe not that many. Leave out Mississippi.
