Flying W....Heaven on Earth Lots o pics

Good pics! I have flown over N14 a few times in my training and have not stopped in yet. I plan on making it one of my first stops with passengers to get a $100 cheeseburger.

Have you been to Block Island, KBID? I hear it is a nice airport and a great place to visit to rent bikes and ride around a historic town.

Block is in fact a great place to visit! Awesome people, great food and a beautiful flight out there! Just be aware, there is only a single runway and that means that quite frequently you have a pretty wicked crosswind. It's also very very crowded on the weekends, or any nice summer day for that matter. Best be arriving early if you want a tie down. Let me know the next time you are out there...I'll take you for crab cakes and lobster rolls at the oar!

Look great man! Keep them coming. I tell ya what after flying the jet for only 3-4 months I want to go rent a damn G-1000 Cessna and do some more real flying!

Thanks for the info. I will let you know if I make it up there this summer. Crab cakes are delicious and anything with lobster in it I am a fan of. :rawk:

SSO straight and level is getting to ya?

Hey everyone, occassionaly I come on here to read these forums and reading this thread inclined me to join since the flying w is my home airport and is where I trained and now instruct.

And to the original poster, you forgot to get a picture of the pool. They have a pool shaped like a plane, and an outdoor bar with horseshoes and a volleyball court. I highly recomend a visit to N14 if you are in the area.

Great Pics though!

Is it filled? I can never see it from the air.

I 'll ask my bro to upload the pic again. McGuire is satyin pretty busy though, the ramp was filled with C17's, KC-10's, and even a 135 or two. The coolest thing is being anble to hear the pilots callsigns on McGuire APP CON ("Opec xxx", "Reach xxx", "Uggly 1 " etc.)

BUt anyway thatnks for the comments we'll be sure to take more picks next time we are up.

Nice Pics! I fly outta McGuire and also happen to live 5 minutes from the Flying W..small world. I tell you though nothing makes me more nervous than arriving back home and doing pattern work around the base..there are 10 satellite airports that are very busy with lots of traffic down low..we have lots of problems seeing you guys visually (thank god for TCAS) but hopefully you all have no problem seeing us! I from time to time rent out at Flying W with another fellow Kc10 driver that CFI's outta there part time. Its one of the coolest GA airports!

Ha, you guys are hard to miss! I fly out of Trenton-Mercer and I always see KC-10 and C-17's flying over the Yardley VOR when I am doing pattern work. On my first dual cross country I flew out to Lancaster and had you guys flying a thousand feet over my head on the first part of the trip. :rawk:

Any chance of seeing an F-22 air demo this year? The static display was awesome, but I have yet to see it fly.

I'm not sure..Ill ask. I think it might be an f22 air demo but Ill see if I can find out at work. As for lancaster, we are always flying over that way on the Harrisburg arrival. Glad you see us ok! ;)
