But with that said, perhaps the day will come as well for you Don, when you won't want your name used on the internet.

Are you suggesting that you want to see those that don't hold the same opinion as you to be censored or banned? Please clarify, I'm intrigued. It's clear where many of us on this forum stand. I have to say that it is a significant disappointment that the anti-union individuals here are being coddled and said "Oh it's okay. . .you can harm me and my livelihood. . .it's all good" Because to be honest, that is what is being said by the silence of a select few.
It's clear that unions have done some serious professional career protection for some of our primary forum leader(s), yet the recognition of these acts are tossed aside so that only the negative rants by a select few are allowed to discredit the great work done by our unions.
Skywest is non-union and JA will do anything to make sure it stays that way and all his airlines are stand alone.
Amazing. . .I bet you have a finance or economics degree too huh? Another pilot with a finance / economics / globalization mindset

Not just YOUR profession, OUR profession.
But you know that. . .
I'd be careful about calling PCL128, "Todd". The day may come where he may wish his real name wasn't used on the internet....
Furthermore you can improve this profession without being a card carrying union member.
I think we're also starting to get in the realm of turning OFF the anti-union guys by belittling them. By essentially calling someone stupid and selfish, you're really only going to do one thing: cause them to stop listening to you altogether. Kinda hard to get the message across of the GOOD things unions can do when your audience has left the building.

Just because you aren't apart of ALPA doesn't mean you are "anti-union".

There nothing worse than having two people who never met each other hate each other when had they met prior to forum debating they would get along just fine. Believe me I've seen it happen! (PCL_128, Jtrain)
Actually, we can. Our policy manual is signed by all parties. It is a contract. The problem is in enforcement should they breech the contract. We (SAPA) do not have a legal department, so I would have to get my own counsel in order to enforce the terms of our contract. Additionally, we do not have the job action remedies that a union house would.
By the way, I never said I didn't think we need a union . . .65% of our pilot group did. My current understanding is that our policy manual, signed by our representative group (SAPA) and management is a legally binding contract. PCL says not . . I am going to research further, and come back with a stronger understanding and position.
And to go a step further, I think a lot of guys at Skywest see a huge amount of hypocrisy in people who criticize them repeatedly for "lowering the bar" who themselves worked at companies with drastically worse pay and work rules. For those of us that want to see a union on property, it really doesn't help to have this overly simplistic hardline view be the loudest voice of ALPA on the internet. To a lot of guys at Skywest it just comes across as ridiculous, and while I don't disagree with a lot of points that the hardline ALPA guys make here, I definately don't fault my coworkers for being seriously turned off by it.

I would be interested to hear you expound on this thought a little further, please.

Just to be perfectly clear, I don't "hate" Bumblebee at all. I merely can't respect his opinion on this issue. There is a difference.
