Does anyone have experience on both the 737-200 and 727-200? If yes, can someone please tell me how similar the system are? All I really know about the 737 is that is has the same PW JT8D's that the 727 uses.

I plumbed on the 727-200 and have about 800 hours of 737-200 time. But it's the -200 ADV, not the basic.

Velocipede, PM sent.

Doug, I am not sure if ours are ADV or not. I believe the the AW Cert has ADV on it. We use the -15 and -9 engines. I would love to have the -17R though.

Scotty we need more power. :->

Hey Bandit, you're flying my dream plane. That's the machine that made me fall in love with aviation soooooooo long ago. Doesn't look like I'll ever fly one though :(

We had -15's and -15A's.

I think the easiest way to tell is the autopilot. If it's like the old "block IV" 72 autopilot, it's probably a straight -200. I'm not sure if the basic -200's have a PDC or not.

Doug, can you tell me what I am looking for? My manuals don't specify any block or mark number for the autopilot. The planes did have Auto Throttle and Perf Computers but those have long since been deactived and removed.

Money on maintaining them. Why pay a pilot and computer the job a pilot can do without the computer?

Why would your company do that?

It was cheaper to remove the items than maintain them. I have been told that AutoThrottles on a non-fadec airplane were not easy to maintain. I bet they wish they had them now with fuel prices going through the roof. Autothrottles would be much more efficient at maintaining LRC than a pilot ever could be.

Good lord, how ADV does a -200 get?

You ain't lived 'till you've done a cat III in a 72 with a block v AP.

"Those are the EDGE lights!" The F/O said to the C/A. I was pulling the seat cushion out of.... well you get the idea. "Three in reverse!" "LEFT turn to exit"

I still like Boeings, but I like cables too. No Time in the 73 though. :D
