Um, yea, there's something wrong with the room

I had an Atlanta overnight a couple nights ago. Even though the storm was a few days before, there was still falling glass all over the place. Quite a few streets were/are closed downtown, forcing some businesses like Hard Rock and Hooters closed for the time being.

I got a surprise when I got to my room! I suspect the window was broken by falling glass, not by the original storm. Falling glass was banging against my window in my replacement room. I slept with the curtains closed farthest from the windows!

Same here!

Many (most?) pilots are afraid of heights.

I don't have the classical fear per se, but I guess you could say that I'm "hyperaware". ;)

I got a little nautious taking this photo myself.

Bonus points to anyone who can name the hotel and city it is in. This should be an easy one for anyone who has been there.

I have ridden ski lifts and gondolas in the Alps, been bungee jumping, and even stood outside an airforce airlifter while doing 300 MPH 1000 feet off the ground. None of that made me more than a little nautious.

This sucker made me feel like yakking on the ascent.

More points for anyone who can name it. Again, should be an easy one.

I know, I was teasing. I have no fear of heights. But I do hate that feeling/sensation of falling!

I have more of a fear of not being in control more than anything!

Haha. I think in an airplane there is nothing extended off the sides to give our mind a good idea of how high we are but when we are standing on something, the walls, cliff, whatever give our mind a very good sense of depth perception.

Well said my fellow youngster:);)

It's not just pilots who are afraid of heights. People find it bizarre that a FA can be afraid of heights. I actually love a clear day when I can look out the galley door windows and marvel at the beauty of the sky. Yet, I have to hold onto the assist handle when throwing the trash bag out the back door! :D
I guess as long as I'm enclosed and feel I can't fall out, I'm fine. That's probably why you couldn't pay me to ride a roller coaster! ;)

I WILL NEVER RIDE A ROLLER COASTER AGAIN EVER!!!!

I went on this little dragon roller coaster at six flags last year and I was the one screaming like a B**** while there were 5 year olds screaming "yay again again" I just ride the go-carts, eat ice cream, watch dolphins, and watch other dumb idiots on roller coaster waiting for one to drop or have a heart attack:laff::laff:. You can actually see 80 year old riding those things. NEVER!!!

For some reason I feel safe in C172s but whenever I'm in something large like an A330 I feel like I am in a death trap.
