I give it 3....maybe 4 years and the Saab will be going the way of the Beech. We're going to be an all Dash fleet w/in that time frame.
You've heard it here first!anic:
Well, that's MY opinion anyway. We'll see how it plays out......Only time will tell. :hiya:
LVV (152) is broken in BHB today. Something about a fuel valve.
You can be the reserve ferry pilot, and do all the part 91 stuff.
That's the same problem N171CJ had. It was a fuel valve on the right side. They sent HYA mx up to work on it all day and they couldn't fix it so they repoed it out last night to ALB. I think they finally got it to BOS this morning. I showed up at 5:00 am to pull a Beech out of the hanger and there was no Beech.
Yep, #2 fuel valve. The plane is still sitting here. LM (the Columbia Mech.) has been working on it off and on. Havent seen anyone else up here.
My new theory.
The Beeches won't be at Colgan past May. I betchya Cape Air takes over our EAS contracts out of AUG, RKD, and BHB.
They are going to outsource the lease returns to Telford up in BGR and Colgan will be done with them. They announced yesterday they are closing the HYA Mx and crew base come Feb. 4th.
Since January 1st the Beech crews are only flying about 20% of our scheduled flights. Everything else has gone mechanical.
LVU (171) is fixed. Just came in to save the day, flown by our very own Loflyn.
They announced yesterday they are closing the HYA Mx and crew base come Feb. 4th.
It looks like we're scheduled to fly together tomorrow, see ya in PVD.
Oooo ooo! Can I be the Director of Maintenance?:hiya::hiya:Joe & andy: Mark and I are going to buy 60 and 171 and restart Bar Harbor Airlines in the Fall when Colgan finally dumps the Beech. You guys want in? I got the loan, and called dibs on #1 on the list once I get my ratings. Mark is #2 and the CP. Joe, you can be #3 and Andy will be the FO.
Since it's voluntary on the side work from Comair, I will require compensory flight time in the right seat!SOLD! to Howard for the incredible salary of ....... Volunteer work!
