Does anyone have some information about Skybus and pilots. My husband is going for an interview and I just want to know a bit about them other than what is on their website. Anything like the hotels they stay at for training, flight schedule, uniforms he has to possibly wear..... anything really would be helpful. Anyone on here work for them?

This should be good...

they are the worst of the worst, they are driving the whole industry down.

As others have said, they are pretty much a joke. The pay is laughable and there are no contract protections. I know a few guys that went there to sit out a recall date to a mainline carrier and they all bailed after less then a month. Apparently they were lied to so much they just gave up on it.

What I know from them...

They DON'T pay for a hotel for training during ground school. They have a "deal" with a hotel in Columbus but you pay out of pocket. Sim was in Miami and they gave enough per diem pay (but no hourly pay) to cover a cheap hotel and that was about it.

Flight schedules are pretty much what ever they want. Again, no contract etc etc.

The uniforms look like park rangers. I had a pretty good laugh when I saw them.

So, again, if your husband's got any other options (and there are a bunch in CMH if that is why he is looking at Skybus) I'd hope he takes them.

You'd better flex some wifely muscle and tell him NO SKYBUS.

He'll end up a pariah. He won't be allowed on jumpseats, so you'd better get ready to move to Columbus. And when they're out of business in two years, he'll have to answer questions in ALL his interviews about why he went to the scum sucking airline of the entire U.S. industry.

Even Virgin, Allegiant and jetBlue pilots appreciate Skybus because those slugs make THEM look good.

This Company is a joke. Tell you husband to do HIMSELF a favor and don't go.

A319 Captain pay $65,000/yr? What an effing joke!

If your husband wants to go anywhere in CMH, Netjets is the place to be.

As others have said......STAY AWAY! Plenty other jobs available.

Kudos to you for doing your homework. :) SHAME on him for not doing his, or not caring about his peers. He should never have submitted an application, let alone accepted an interview.

Don't do it.

Seriously.

The pay is garbage. The airline is brand-spanking new and quite honestly is not in a good position to survive.

There's plenty of other outfits out there hiring right now. Depending on his time & if he has a degree he could try with DL. Like someone else suggested try NetJets, I've heard SO many good things about working there. That would be a top notch place to be.

Wow. Didn't know it's that low. I could make that this year after I upgrade.....and I'm in a friggin RJ!

I meant the Skybus crews! (TIC)

There's no shortage of coke machines around Delta WHQ! Coke machines and troughs of sweet tea at the Speedline.

I'm very curious to see if they will last $120 oil for very long. I read some article stating that they have no number to call for customer service. Some dude showed up at the airport with reservation in hand and they made him buy another ticket at full fare because they couldnt find his resv. Now that sucks.

you are all negative with your thoughts about this company. and for a pilot with only a GED and no degree it is not a s*** job like you all are playing it up to be. if i wanted to know a bunch of smack about them i would have asked, but no i asked for info about them so if you don't work for em don't open your mouth. i'm not a wife that just stays home and plays house wife, so don't be giving me any crap!

Why don't you get your husband to sign up for an account. That makes the pilot applicant more accessible to people on here trying to get a point across. If all you tell him is that a bunch of people on the internet had negative stuff to say about SkyBus, he might just shrug it off. But if he came on here and read it and could ask questions and get them answered don't you think it would be more effective?

You asked for information and you got it. You don't like it one bit but I guarantee your husband would not like to be out of a job at an unstable company either. There are far, far better options especially with NetJets in CMH as someone wrote.

Search for SkyBus in the news and on these and other aviation forums. You won't be impressed with that airline if you spend a few hours reading about it.
