Hey all, first I should start out by introducing myself. My name is Matt, and I'm a college junior who has a passion for aviation (like most of you!). I've been working part-time for FedEx Express on the ramp since November 2006, and I've shown a quick taking to the job and have been promoted to a Team Leader position since August. I've shown leadership outside of work being voted captain of my varsity CC team in college as well.
So you can imagine I am quite a busy person (college, work, and varsity sports). I'm really looking hard for an internship for the summer of 2008 in some sort of aviation field. I'm progressing towards a B.A. in Business Administration, with an Operations Management concentration. I've put in for an internship at Delta, that is the only one so far. My GPA is 2.97, and a lot of the internships require a 3.0. This is so beyond close that I would think they would still consider me, but I could be wrong. :banghead:
I've got experience on the ramp already, I'm passionate about the job environment, and I love anything aviation related. Help a guy out!!! Any advice is appreciated!!
edit: I forgot to mention, I grew up around the airport! My mother worked for NWA for 18 years, starting out on the front counter and moving up into corporate position at the headquarters before leaving the company a few years ago. My father also was a fueler on the ramp when I was a baby. Thought I would explain my aviation-related upbringing.
