Big Sky guys...

I got a call from Chuck Colgan today. He said that Colgan will guarantee ANY Big Sky guy an interview and we are going to be holding interviews the 26th and 27th.

If you are interested PM me and I can give you Chucks personal cell phone.

We are growing, have a great pilot group, and one definitely has an opportunity to advance your career here.

I would imagine Chuck will see 30-40 Big Sky guys today and tomorrow. A lot of our street captains are a little wary of another "rapidly growing" turboprop carrier, but most have said they'll go to the interview.

As a side note, what do you think the chances of a MHT base out of training are?

Didn't a lot of Colgan guys go to Big Sky as Street Captains??

Either way, I wish you Big Sky folks the best.

Chances are slim to none but closer to none than slim.

HOWEVER....there are two fairly senior FOs out of MHT right now that are going to be upgrading more than likely in the next few months so those chances may be increasing. I have no idea though how long the list is of people waiting to get in there. Some great lines out of MHT though with 14-16 days off

a lot interviewed but none went over.

Thank God.

I thought about going there when they started flying into TTN. Thats in my backyard. Glad I didn't. Didn't Mair holdings own Mesaba and they purchased Big Sky to whipsaw Mesaba pilots?? I believe that is what I read somewhere, which is the main reason why I never considered applying there. I would rather not have part in Mair's doings.

Question:
If you go on and on about how Colgan is a miserable place to work, why draw Big Sky guys in? Why not let others at "better" (highly subjective, but I can't think of a better word) regionals help out???

eek. . .

Maybe because it's a job? I'm sure the Big Sky guys won't ONLY be looking at Colgan, but I'm sure it's a nice gesture to know that at least one company out there is opening their arms out pretty wide.

Misery loves company.

Yeah, did I ever say I was miserable? No. It is what it is, parts of it suck, but all in all it is not THAT bad of a place to be. I would have left if it was that bad.

I've upgraded, in short time, and have had great experiences here. Trying to help guys out who might need it. You know, 'pay it forward'.

Because every job is going to suck just a little bit in a few ways.

If you whine like a girl - yes. If you're never really had a job that REALLY sucks - yes.

Otherwise, not always the case.

I've had jobs that REALLY sucked. I've not found anything that bad in this job. Truly my dream come true.

So, it's kinda bad? Why help somebody go someplace that's even a little bit bad?

Geez, Lloyd.

No place is perfect. There are ups and downs to every airline out there. I love my job, love the guys (for the most part) that I work with, and love getting up in the morning to go to work. However, there are some issues to the job, like any airline.

It's all what you make it, my man! It can be perfect, or it can be "OK", or it can suck royally. It all depends on what you decide when you wake up in the morning!

Every paycheck a fortune, every meal a feast, every walk-around a parade!

Unfortunately, it is now "cool" to be unhappy, so that's what people do.

It's sad.
