XJT Branded Flying

Okay...at least your honest. I never said anyone should come to Colgan. It works for me and a lot of others, and Colgan will be ALPA come next August.

And if you really look down on non-union carriers that much then I'm dissapointed- I expect more maturity out of someone who flies people around for a living.

Merit- you seem to dwell on the fact that you're unionized and some of us aren't. Do you honestly think you're better? You do seem to have embraced the "we're the best, everyone else blows" role well. Didn't you almost go to Mesa? They're unionized and they're by far the worst carrier in this industry.

I'm sorry- I don't want to start a fight here. We're all in this together. I wish nothing but the best to XJET employees. It just certainly wasn't a company that I had interest in. I'm sorry- I was being pretty abrasive.

Christmas on the ocean... 20+ hours in Monterey... Christmas Eve into Christmas Day... ;)

Bob

Oh you poor guy.:sarcasm::) (With the exception of the fact that you being away from the wife a kids of course).

I have no idea where I will be for Christmas.

Do I believe unionized carriers are better? Absolutely.

Mesa has a long way to go and I stand behind them as an ALPA carrier just as I would stand behind you if you were.

Next..

I'll be more clear- do you think that you're better than a Colgan pilot because you work for XJET?

It's hard NOT to be abrasive sometimes, knowing the reaction we get from some people here simply because we fly for Colgan.

That's funny. The vibe I get is "We work for a crap regional airline, so no one else is allowed to be happy with, proud of, or enthusiastic about the regional airline they work for."

Someone needs to get some hedge trimmers and a weed eater and give ol Chuckie a trim in the nose and ear hair department. I saw him at the hotel I was overnighting at in IAD a few months back. I didn't sleep well that night.

So XJT guys come to the defense of their company by. . .what - defending their company, or bashing other people's companies.

I see how that works. But of course, I'm way late, and on the middle of page three. What I'm referring to though is mostly page 1 psycho-bable.

So, how does Delta's new business plan work with XJT? Are they still looking at more 50 seaters, cause it looks like they're opting to reduce domestic flying with most of their regional partners. I'm not very optimistic on Pinnacle getting more than 16 -900s since that's what they bare minimum of our Delta ASA calls for. Personally, if that means more MD-88/90s at Delta, that's fine with me. I'd rather have upward than lateral mobility any day of the week. Comair's losing CRJs with no replacements, and ASA's already been mentioned in the thread.

Rumor around here is we're shopping at United to try to get more -900s in order to actually make the start up for the program make money instead of losing it. Only 16 airplanes is not gonna justify the cost of starting up the -900 program.

That is the exact reason why our CEO has told us that we won't be getting larger aircraft... unless... it's a long term order... for a lot of them.

No "short-term" contracts for "a few" 70 or 90 seaters... the costs associated with it aren't worth the risk. It would take something rather large for us to jump on it.

Hey your right its public knowledge that Delta is cutting its DCI flying by 4000+ hours... so unless they start dumping one regional for another I just dont see XJT/9E etc... getting much more flying for DAL.

United rumors are flying around... I keep hearing DEN and IAD is what there looking for.

Well, we got half of that. The Delta contract is a long term contract with OPTIONS for more planes. But, I don't count on options in this industry, and neither should our management. With our on-time performance and completion factor (minus the months where we couldn't find pilots), if management can't close a deal with someone, they shouldn't be selling used cars, much less running an airline. Add in the fact that we've got a low overhead and operating revenue, and that makes it even worse if they can't find another deal.
