Hey all, got the call this morning for an interview with Acey on Jan. 9th. I'm very excited since this way my first choice for a regional, and am nervous not to blow it! Times are 525/62 ME. Wish me luck! lol

Congrats! Acey is one of my top choices as well (at least today).

Good luck, and I know you'll let us all know how it goes!

Good luck. . .we just had 6 individuals (all CFI's of some sort) interview yesterday.

I haven't been back to work just yet to see how it all went, but we do have a 100% placement for those who do hire - and no ground school washouts - and none of them did an RJ course. :)

Awesome, find a good gouge and really hit the books. Take the time to prepare and you should be good shape.

Don't get bent out of shape about the RJ sim. They're just looking for basic instrument skills and will give you a briefing on what to expect. Just be aware that it's pretty sensitive and really think ahead.

If you find out the night before who you're flying it with, meet up with them and talk about what kind of calls you want them to make. They can't help you though by pointing out mistakes. Good luck!

As mentioned, the sim is just basic instrument skills. The profile to be flown is widely available on the gouge websites. HOWEVER.... if you have no glass time... spend just a few hours with MS flight sim on the crj700. I really feel that's important... if you're not familiar with how to interpret the tapes and "sky-pointer" attitude indicator, you'll be figuring out your scan about the time the evaluator checks the "unsat" box. There are no backup steam gauges to cheat with. There's no need to get fancy and buy sim time to practice or any nonsense like that, just make sure you can scan with the glass and if your instrument skills are decent, you'll be great.

Thanks guys. Luckily I have 85 hours of glass in a G1000, so I hope it helps. My job has a table top PCATD with a CRJ900 so I think I'll use it for a bit. I really want to go to ASA so we'll see just how much in a few weeks!!! :D

Good luck at the interview!

This is from ASA's website. Look at the note at the bottom about banner towing, etc. It's funny for them to say what kind of flight time they don't like instead of what kind of flight time they do like.

Minimum Requirements:
  • 500 hours total time*
  • 50 hours multi-engine time
  • Recency of flight experience will be considered
  • Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate
  • Vision corrected to 20/20
  • Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
  • FCC radio license
  • ATP Written preferred
  • Successfully pass a drug screen analysis
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and have a valid passport
  • Undergo a criminal history records check through an FBI based fingerprint system
  • Extensive background and reference check
  • College preferred, minimum high school diploma or GED
  • Minimum age 20
* Hours acquired in banner towing, traffic watch or aerial photography are not the best way to build flight time.

Most of my time picked up instructing. I'm fortunate I didn't go another route, in big part thanks to the things I learned from people here.
