I am really sorry ALPA failed. I didn't know it was by 4 votes. It's a real loss for your group in every aspect of the job and now, another union-less carrier exists in the airline world.

Sad..

The thing YOU can do to make sure it doesn't happen again is when you run into a Colgan guy, make sure they know to vote for ALPA next time around.

You have a Colgan guy request a jumpseat, MAKE SURE he sits in the cockpit and educate him why ALPA is needed in this career.

There will be another vote for ALPA at Colgan in '08. We need YOU and EVERYONE else out there to make sure it is a landslide victory.

No we do not charge for jumpseaters.

If there is an open seat we take jumpseaters or in the cockpit on the slabby.

Is it true you guys charge jumpseaters?

EDIT: I just saw your '08 drive comment.

we do sell subway sandwiches in flight at a slight markup to make up for our crap pay. sometimes the captain will circle for a while so they are forced to buy up the rest.

wait ... no... i can't back any of that up

edit: not really from colgan anymore

We do? Why the F%&K didn't i get a cut of that markup. Did you skim money off me?

No wonder it took you so long to give your 'briefings'.

I put out a tip cup for my smooth ass landings. Ok so they're not that smooth, but at least you don't have any back problems....

Also, I think that after Buddy Casey was put in as Mike Colgan's replacement shortly after the vote it told the pilot group who's really running Colgan now. This along with the flight attendant group having a union seems to tell me that the next round is going to go more favorably.

Younger pilots should rock the vote, while the older more mature pilots are advised to smooth jazz the vote.

THe Q guys up in Toronto have frequent talks about this...that should be 10 more votes FOR.

And if you other Q guys are reading this youd better vote YES...nothing like making less money to fly a 74 seat aircraft than nearly (stupid lynx) every other regional out there. Also getting to ewr without a commuter clause will potentially weed out 4 out of the 10 Q guys this winter season.

August of 08....whos coming with me!

Count me in! YEAH, STUPID LYNX, you guys screwed all of us!

AND ANOTHER THING.

what is the point of the colganpilot group? How are they going to get us a contract, raise our pay rates and implement a commuter clause. If they can do none of the above can we just boycott that site now and make it go away? If anyone knows how that site will do us good PLEASE let me know because i dont get it yet. So far it looks like a forum not much unlike jetcareers. In that case why doesnt mgmt just read jetcareers to find out what is going on and what the complaints are.

again: I like it here, I evaluated ALOT of options and I chose to come here so dont get me wrong, I do not hate where I am I just do not like the current state of the industry, specifically our lack of contract and payrates as well as protection here at CJC. Short of saying "take the FO position and ______" I figured I can just do what I can to be part of a change for at least Colgan. I do believe there can be some good things in store for this company. Our new callsign will be "Phoenix"

i think u guys better pray seggy puts his heart and soul into the OC AGAIN and this time the pilots vote correctly. its very easy. dial the number and when it gets to the options just keep pressing 1.

(Make that back-to-back-to-back posts....)

They CAN'T get us a contract or any of that other stuff. I've just been treating that site as a company-specific jetcareers forum. Not sure what else it's good for.

i will defend the hotel in Toronto. We stay at the extended stay deluxe and it is a nice hotel with a great breakfast 7 days per week as well as a decent dinner mon-thurs. I have zero complaints about the hotel we stay at here in toronto. As for the best western in Manassas...poor, very poor.

Yes we are getting 50 dollars per day and ONLY on the days you train so for the most part you are only getting paid monday through friday. Do the math...works out to something like $6.50 per hour. Living the dream
