COLD

Like I said....come visit before you make a choice. You have a place to stay if needed.

Where are you? ...like 6 hours away?

nope 8 hours...yea I am not coming up there when it's that cold :)

So how the heck to cars and planes start in that cold?

You can come join me in Anchorage instead. It is nowhere near as cold:)
I recommend it for one semester if you've NEVER tried them before. I hated the dorms, but am glad I tried them out. ;)
At least your dorms arent ranked 7th worst in the country;)

if you look at a temp map GFK is normally the coldest in this area, which is why i hate this place

True, I did make a lot of awesome friends living in the dorms. But I stayed in there a bit longer than I needed to...hence the bitterness I think :-)

Have you made a decision yet?

What the hell? lol... It's -3F here, and 33F over there...I just don't get this place.

I don't know if you've noticed, but Grand Forks is always the second place in the country to get to turn purple on those temperature maps on weather.com. The first area is in Minnesota/Wisconsin, somewheres over in yonder direction. But the area around Grand Forks is always second.

The only reason I noticed that is because I get the best of both worlds. I'm from Kansas, which is always the second place to get into the red in the summer. The first is northern Arizona, followed by western Kansas. I think last year my "annual temperature range" (just straight temp, not taking into account windchill or heat index) was 152 degrees. Add in those two factors and it was more like 180.

agree.

if youre new to college, give it a shot for one semester or maybe all of your first year.

get a co-ed dorm (no brainer)

otherwise, if youve been to school already or are older than 21, get an apt/house near campus.
