What's the deal with anti-Leather jackets?

This thread kinda makes want to go get an airline job so I can wear the hat, leather jacket, ipod, and backpack! Seriously, who cares what people are wearing. I dont care if pilots wear blue jeans and t-shirts as long as they know what the hell they're doing in a cockpit.

People need to get over themselves.
forget all that . . . what island is it???:D

I can't believe that this thread is still going on!...LOL

I am at gate A16 in ATL getting ready to board my flight back to SFO and I've never seen so many Delta pilot uniforms (it helps that the pilot lounge is nearby. :D Anyway, it made me think of this thread. :D

I think that they have nice uniforms. I think that both Delta and United have nice uniforms. Now I must get back to checking out the situation here in ATL!

Masirah!

Here's more...

Been there once or twice...;)

Kevin
Thanks man . . . that is very close in pronunciation to Misawa. Cool I'm not entirely brain dead.
I wasn't aware that there were other people on that island during the 3 hours I was standing out there.
I've been trying to find out where this was for more than 25 years!

It all came about from a debate reminicent of that old Miller Lite ad . . . . Great Taste! . . .Less Filling!

Right on!

The day I get hired by a regional is the day I will get my hair frosted, it's usually spiked so the whole spiked/frosted look. I will wear the hat as well.

Oh, PGT, you'll make some lucky bear a nice man-date! :) :sarcasm:

Yes, it's very foolish that decades of pilots have worn the traditional uniform without a problem, but the new generation of pilots think that they are too "cool" to put on a blazer or mess up their gelled hair with a hat.

1) I've seen you in your blazer.

2) I'm WAY older than you, not some "new generation."

3) I look WAY better in the leather jacket than you do in the blazer. :nana2:

Seriously, my decision was totally functional. It keeps me warm on walkarounds, I can wear it off-duty with the "adornments" off, and I don't have to carry an extra jacket.

And as far as which looks more professional, I don't think it makes a bit of difference--they both look fine.

If you're trying to pick up a Delta pilot, try the Bookstore/cafe right there in the B concourse or hang out around the ATM machine at A-19. Or the E-concourse food court!

Why yes, a little Delta birdie told me about that food court near A-19, which was near my gate last night. They had me going out of gate T-something at first, but when I got to the airport they had changed my gate to A-16...It was a nice little parade! :D Tis better than reading the Wall Street Journal!

Thanks Doug! I shall have to remember the other good spots for future layover/trips in ATL!
