Got this email today, question is, I'm sittin low-time @ 400TT/130ME, below Comair's min's. Would a plane ticket and hotel room be a expensive way to hear "bridge program", or "thanks, but no thanks" after 20 minutes. Is this an email they send out to anyone with an email and a pulse?

You will have to go to CVG for an interview either way. I don't think it is worth the time and money to fly to the open house. As far as your times. I know of several people that have been hired here with less than posted minimums, but I think most of them did a bridge program. I can tell you first hand that they are having a very hard time recruting and especially with people showing up to class. They just recently canceled a class, because only 1 guy showed up. The last class that started this week had 5 people in it.

Either way, I'd say fill out an application on Airline Apps. and see if you get a response. If you don't get a response within a few weeks, e-mail me your resume and I'll forward it to the right person.

PM sent, thanks.

According to HR and Chief Pilot, internal candidates can get on below mins at Chief Pilots discretion. Damn I need some multi!:banghead:

Hey Bubba, just wanted to ask, over at airline pilot central someone posted Comair might be getting sold, an annoucement to come this friday. Have you heard anything?

I heard they are having a hard time filling classes too.
My buddy wants to get hired and he has the same time that I got hired with but they never called him. I even sent his resume to Sam L. Anyone know anyone else I could send it to so he could at least interview?

Comair has been on the brink of getting sold for over two and a half years now.

All talk and rumors for a long time. Yet still.....nothing has been done. So whatever. DL is supposed to make an annoucement in 1st Quarter 2008. So until then....rumors will continue to be just that....rumors. And even when the annoucement comes-it will be even funnier if indeed it was still a rumor.

But i'm sure everyone has figured out by now not to belive rumors right? :)

As far as the hiring for Comair- if your intersted by all means apply. There continue to be needs for pilots, and many positions throughout the company. (we get these by company spam email all the time). So by all means apply, and best of luck. If you need any help or have any questions there are a couple of us on the boards & we'd more than happy to try and answer them.

Appreciate it...I have applied, not sure what else I can do beside's, pester them with phone calls and wait...

No doubt.... and sometimes that is exactly what you have to do sometimes.

We are definitly looking for people- and i can say that i'm glad to be where i am.
I've only been here for a year and 5 months- have more than 300 people below me on a seniority list that is 1600+, and from talking to alot of my friends who are new hires, or have only been here a few months- they are getting lines & decent schedules.
And for the upgrade times- people only 300 #'s above me are getting upgrades...so it will be coming in good time.
