Mother nature hates RJ's

I wondered when this video was going to get out, I know a guy who was working for Pinnacle as a ramper when that happened, my understanding is that a small tornado passed just north of the airport cause the dance that you saw, the station supervisor called the CEO who thought it was a april fool's joke.
 
They just weren't tied down properly.

Gotta make sure you use TWO knots on that rope boys!!!

Actually better that they weren't tied in any fashion. The airplanes did exactly what they were supposed to do in that situation, weathervane into the wind. Airplanes tied down in that type of situation are looking at potentially serious damage.

Still curious to know how much wind it takes to make an RJ pivot like that.
