Flight Case Stickers

While I was at Midway, one of my friends got in trouble for 2 stickers on his flight case - one was "Crashing Sucks" and the other was "The whole world is going to hell and I'm' driving the bus"......Chief Pilot had no sense of humor.

Someone mentioned free advertising - a while back, and I think someone even posted a link to it on this site, there was a pilot on eBay auctioning off advertising space on his flight case. You win the auction and you got all of the space on the wide side of the flight case for a month to put whatever advertisement you wanted for your business or whatever.

PS - I had the nylon case as well but managed to get a 'Vote for Pedro' patch sewn onto it.

I got:
Ski Beaver Utah
Tak Yushenko!
Lauda CRJ
LOT IL-18

I think a few stickers are good, but too many is too many.

What I mean is that can the company force you to remove a sticker from your bag or would that be a violation of your freedom of speech rights?

1st amendment protects you from the government only. With limited exceptions (union speech is protected generally), an employer can impose any speech limitations it wants on employees during working hours and on employer premises.

You can put stickers on a ballistic nylon case. They just have to be real sticky. I have a few that are on there, have been for awhile, If there are any that you really want on there that arent exceptionally sticky, all I have to say is gorilla glue.

Doesn't apply in the private sector. That's why I find it entertaining when people throw the constitution at me when I edit/delete a expletive-filled post! :)

Thats kinda what I thought although a friend of mine at Pinnacle is a union rep and he says that your flight case is covered by the first amendment. It sounded fishy to me, thats why I asked on here. Needless to say, all of the stuff that they're allowed to put on their kit bags are engine, airplane, airline and union stickers...or something like that.

Your friend is probably referring to union-related stickers. The RLA protects the rights of employees to express support for any union that they want, so companies cannot prohibit you from having union stickers on your bags, union pins on your uniform, etc...

I have on the back (non-exposed side) of my bag, a 145LR and a 135 sticker.

I have an ALPA sticker on one side.

On the front I have the 9/11 Ribbon Sticker (from ALPA), a 145XR sticker, a Rolls-Royce AE3007 Sticker and a Quagmire sticker (Alllllll Riiiiight)

On the other side I have my SAAB sticker held on with tape (a symbol of CJC MX practices). When I stored my bag in IAH, I always put it away with that sticker facing out. It always made it easy to find, as it was the only one.

I have no stickers.

A checkairman I flew with had a "Frank the Tank" sticker and every leg right before he'd do the stall protection system test (loud) he'd say, "Earmuffs!". That was funny.

Bill used to have a Kenny sticker from Southpark on his old Office Depot case that finally fell apart.

He has a "Furloughed but not Forgotten" sticker on his current bag. Kind of a subject of personal interest for us ;) It's a picture of a uniform jacket hanging in a closet with the door half-shut with the words Furloughed but not Forgotten at the top.

I've got a pudgy 737 sticker, a LeTourneau University sticker, an Alaska 737-800 sticker, CRJ sticker, a SkyWest sticker (just can't bring myself to cover it up- gotta remember my roots, ya know), and a Calvin-ish character kneeling in front of a cross sticker.

An oval New Mexico Flag sticker, Quagmire in uniform on one side,
a Zap from my ANG unit and one that says "Outta my way, I'm a commuter!" on the other side.
