Disgusting

I've already asked one moderator to completely remove my account, and I'm asking Doug next . . . this just isn't what I want to be a part of.

Lloyd, I like you man from what I know but it doesn't take a mod for you to stop coming to JC.

Leave if you dont like it here. It's that simple.

A Q can't perform the same sort of flying that a 737 or DC-9 can. In general, the Q and similar turboprops are only useful on flights of 400 miles or less. What you'll find is that the Q will replace a lot of the short-range RJ flying. It's not a suitable replacement for mainline equipment.

Meh, I realize the Q isn't going to 'replace' mainline aircraft.....

However, a large, very economical aircraft IS a threat to mainline scope. When a Q can replace the 50-70 seat RJ for 'most' routes.....that's a problem. One that needs to be addressed, too.

But the Q can't replace the 50-70 seaters on "most" routes. It can only effectively replace them on routes of under about 400 miles. Most RJ routes are going much further than that nowadays. I used to routinely fly routes of nearly 1000 nm on a 50-seater. In fact, we flew several routes of over 1000 nm.

Look, I'm not arguing in favor of outsourcing turboprops. I'm a proponent of "zero-seat scope." In other words, I want all outsourcing eliminated. But I just think the Q isn't a threat at all CAL pilots, which is why they traded TP scope for other items in their agreement.

Come on, you know very well that there's a third option--that Skywest does not go around firing people left and right for on-the-job mistakes. I heard *many* more stories of guys getting fired at Eagle than I have at Skywest...but I also saw people do a lot more stupid #### there.

Again, I FULLY recognize that this could all change at the drop of a hat, which is why I voted for ALPA. But you do know there's a difference between apathy and a lack of foresight, right?

That's fair, I think you're right and a lack of foresight could well be a better way to put it.

CoEx used to fly the ATR-72. The "large TP" has been scoped out for quite a while.

I believe the limit is 76 seat TP to be flown by a regional for CAL. It might be 78, but I know there is one.
