Come on Lloyd let us not kid ourselves. If that instructor did not take that job for his 'big chance', well it would be like me turning a job down at FEDEX or UPS. I would take that 'big chance' every time.
That is nice. This month I have six days off and had to go OKC-LAS-ALB on Tuesday to deadhead 'home'. Tomorrow I am dead heading ALB-CLT-BOS. Not whining and complaining, I don't mind it, I am flying my rear end off, and will have a nice pay credit, but outstation basing is not the most economical way to run an airline.

Well, in all fairness it did take several tries before he found a regional that worked for him. What was CHQ, number 3 or 4?
Here's what my Dec schedule looks like: 16 days off, 94 hours of credit, working Xmas and New Years. But ya know what, I didn't ask for either of them off. What the heck does a Buddhist need Xmas off for? I did get my wife's b-day and our anniversary off (which I DID ask for), and that's really all I need. Although there are plenty of guys that are ticked about their schedules here. Might have to do with the fact that we're insanely short staffed despite what management likes to tell the press. We've lost 2 of the 15 CRJs that were supposed to be gone by now, and the Delta flying starts Dec 1st. Given the fact that we can't get FOs in class and CAs are leaving left and right, it's a wonder most guys didn't just get the minimum of 10 days off. As it is, if I have a WX delay ANY time during Dec, they'll have to pull me off my last out and back on New Year's Eve since that'll put me over 1000 for the year.

Maybe because it's just a day of giving and actually has nothing to do with Christ's birthday..

I only have 15 days off with 90 hours credit, new years eve off, and a 6 day off stretch starting on the 23rd!

Which is why I normally celebrate the day of giving on the 23rd, my anniversary.
Truthully, you could do Xmas any day of the year and be about as correct.

Yup, not to mention, it's not the birth of Christ that is of any big importance, his death is what did something for those of us who believe..
Of course, he could not die with out being born and all that but that's for another thread..

I just dont want people to think that they should stay at RAH if they have a job offer at FEDEX.

Doesn't matter how good the schedule/QOL is. You're still at a regional, the pay sucks, and you don't go anywhere. Just to clarify - by anywhere, I don't consider an occasional trip to Canada or Mexico as real international or even all that cool for that matter. My best day at Colgan (which can be applied to any regional) will still never be that great. So let's not kid ourselves. No regional will EVER be someplace to make a career at if you think straight.
