Wanna Know How Small Aviation Really Is??

Oh, I have another one. My first night in my crashpad in ORD I was talking with one of my roommates who flies for Eagle. I asked if he knew my first flight instructor, because he flies for Eagle and used to be ORD based. Not only does he know him, he used to stay in our crashpad.

I interviewed a pilot back in 1992 for a 747 Captain position, we saw each other in year 2000 trying to figure how we knew each other until it clicked.

Aviation is VERY small. I continuously run into guys I haven't seen in forever. Such as Bill, one of the Airnet recruiters at Network JC. I haven't seen the guy in years; at least since I left college. Then there he is, in Vegas. Great catching up with good guys like that. Funny, because he knows another good friend of mine, and some other people I am getting to know. The "six degrees" is more like "three degrees" in aviation.

I think the lesson to learn here is that people WILL know you. So the importance of having integrity and being a stand-up individual is imperative...

Speaking of seeing people you know...I'm based in CVG starting next month...see you near the bottom of the base seniority list:)

Awesome . . . .reserve isn't so bad in CVG - At least for me, it hasn't. I've only sat for a day without being used, and only had a call once. The rest of the month has been filled with 4-day trips!

I would have held a line for Nov - with 6 days off for Turkey Day - if I'd just waived the 2-days off between trips rule!!! Hehehe - that's ok. As the senior reserve FO in base, I'd like to welcome you with open arms! :)
