Anybody ever work for this company? Air Transport International LLC.
They are a 121 International cargo/pax charter company.
Any information would be appreciated. Their website doesn't list hiring minimums.
Thanks for any information.

Bad stuff first.

I just received my second recall notice and will not be returning
A deep pacific run with one of the combis (a freighter with 32 seats in the tail) is going away soon.
In contract negotiations and things are being "dragged" out.
Company is crying poor
Supposedly the first 767-200 will be online next year sometime, this is a north south airplane, not an east west airplane. By no way a good replacement for the DC8.
The latest hiring may have new hires on line in time to fly during Peak. This is where ATI flys for UPS, the USPS and some other cargo outfits to help out during the Christmas boom. I would be willing to bet that after peak, if not replacement for the Deep Pacific run is found, there will be another furlough.
Scheduling sucks. 7 on 7 off, however you travel on your own time, so depending on where you live, it could be 9 on 5 off.

The good stuff
The DC8 is the best airplane ever made, hands down. If you can fly that thing, you can fly anything with wings.
Home based. Not having to worry about getting to work is nice, but again, traveling on your days off gets a little old.
Backside of the clock flying, if you like that kind of thing, you will do plenty of it.
Real international experience. Bribing rampers in nowhere Africa with cases of Coca Cola to get a huffer cart.
Some of the finest aviators anywhere. There really is not 10% at ATI, save one or two guys and they aren't that bad.
Only a few bleeding heart liberals, rest are good ole conservatives. Even the few liberals know there place :D
As an FO you will be typed in the DC8, a full type, not this bs SIC type, not a bad resume builder.

That is about it in a nutshell. If you can afford the uncertaintity of having a job in 7 to 8 months, go for it. If you can, move to Toledo, your QOL will be amazing and the captains, FEs, and FOs that live there know how to party!!!

I was hired with 2200 TT, 1200 or so ME, about 1000 turbine (in dash 8s) and no internal recs. The flying and the operation itself is easy, the being able to stand the guys/gals in the cockpit for 10+ hour legs is the hard part.

If hired, pay is 250 bucks a week until you complete IOE, kind of tuff. Hotel is paid for while in training, single occupancy. All training is in Dayton OH and takes about 6 weeks from day one to completing IOE.

Hope this helps.

With the experience you came in with, how did you find training to be? Easy? Hard? Was class easier than sims, sims easier than class etc. ?
