ATP Sacramento

Hey everyone, I am new to the forums. Private pilot with 112 hours just working the line at my local airport (KTIW) in Tacoma, Washington. Can't wait to start ATP at Sacramento on September 10th! Anyone hear about SAC lately how has it been?

-Rick

Well hopefully when you start they will have more instructors and less students. They have about 15 acpp students and 3 working instructors. The students where bitching about how long things where taking.

People are just bailing so quickly to the airlines now. They are really starting to feel the effects of the pilot shortage, and their own fast track program is working against them in a way.

All that aside you will get your ratings as long as you work hard. Just might take more than 90 days in SAC.

I too am looking to go to ATP or CPS, my start date will be October when I decide. So keep posting, I am sure others would be very interested in hearing about your experience there.

I was going to go to ATP in September but was delayed by personal conflicts and have recently been looking at CPS instead. You owe it to yourself to atleast check the CPS web site. Unless you already have.:)

Shoot me a PM when you get to KSAC. I instruct at the airport (not ATP) and my plane is parked across from all of ATP's Seminoles.

oh i definitely will, im prepping for my instrument written right now so hopefully ill have a good jumpstart on the program by having that and the FII out of the way...

also another question, anyone know the exact address of the apartments there? and do u have time to work out ever?

I am also going to ATP SAC in mid Sept. I still have to interview though, but I am going to try to next week. Have you already done the interview? If so, what did they ask you to do?

ya i did the interview its pretty easy... mostly just stuff about private pilot such as pattern altitudes and some cloud and airspace requirements... also stuff about airport beacons (military vs civilian) ... study up on Vmc factors for multiengine to impress them if u want.. basics of aerodynamics etc etc there are one or two random tough questions that i missed but its no biggie... as long as u know the basics of what is going on you are good :D

I just finished my interview a few days ago, I did well on the PP questions and as expected not so well on the IFR and Mutli Engine questions. The apartments seemed very nice from the outside, but overall the facility, planes and simulator were less than impressive. The last straw was that my interview thought I was Morman because I am from Utah, He is Morman and went on a rant about non Mormans. He was a littlle shocked when at the end of the interview he figured out I was not Morman.

I know the facility and new planes wont make me a good or bad pilot, but for the money I would be spending I expected more. just my opinion. I am looling at CPS again.

"He is Morman and went on a rant about non Mormans"

That just might be illegal. I'm not really sure.

Anyone care to comment on ATP religious discrimination?

That's a new one.....

When I was at a certain ATP location, they where talking about how ATP was trying to create an "Arian Race" of pilots, which would take over the world via Boeing and Airbus aircraft. Basically, they would setup a company and have them go to the regionals fairly quickly through training them in multi-engine aircraft only, and then within a 10 year range, they would be at the majors.

You may want to contact the government, they should know about this.

:panic:

A few of the people in my private class were supposed to do their ACPP at the SAC facility and ended up switching it to PHX after taking a tour of the facility up there.

Uh sounds very illegal to me. I can't say I've come across any religious (or racial for that matter) discrimination at IWA. It's a pretty good group and everyone is professional and easy going.

If you have even the slightest ill feeling towards attending ATP due to what you experienced in the interview, I would not hestitate to give Jacksonville a call.

Well....

there ya go.

Wouldn't expect much more from the koolaid crowd.

AKA, this guy could be your CFI. A smartmouth punk who could care less about your customer service concerns. Let your feet do that walking. There are better options.

remember you are the customer. if you do not like what you see then leave. simple as that. don is right. there are other options out there to obtain your tickets. atp is clearly not for everyone. there are a lot of good fbo operations out there. do what is best for you do not get pushed into something you are uncomfortable with.

Anyone that went to SAC right now would feel that way. Its a cluster ####. There are too many students and not near enough instructors. They need to stop sending people there until its under control.

I have met a few of the guys on their XC's from SAC and they are good guys and I feel bad about how its going up there. In fact, they are ALL good people, but there are too many people!

The funny part is that one of them wanted to go to RAL at the same time as me, but they told him it was full at RAL and SAC was the only option. But I am flying through the program, and he is extremly delayed.

What do you want to hear? Assuming that really happened, the person needs to call the admin office and complain. Although I can't count how many times in my previous job I had a customer swear one of my employees said something, they would even "quote" it for me, but listening to the recorded phone call revealed the exact opposite. In fact I think in 6 years a customer's complaint was only backed up 1 time by the recording, and the rep was fired that day (all in all our department would take over a million calls a year, so it wasn't a tiny operation). Of course, it's "anti-ATP", so DE727 immediately gives it all the weight in the world. Heck, that anonymous post could probably be entered right into the Encyclopedia Britannica. It's a fact. Anyone who says anything different is a kool-aid-drinking-ATP-paid-hitman-mafia-tool.

Oh yeah, and I met a rude UPS driver once. Are you going to solve my problem with him over the jetcareer's message board, or tell me to call an 800 number and speak to someone who can actually do something about it?

DE727, the super troll.

clocks meet the guy before you call him a troll. he is probably the furthest thing from it. just because someone disagrees with your ideas on the internet does not make them a troll.

You're right.

His posts here make him a troll.

In fact, I don't think you could even find a post by me where I disagree with his ideas. Probably because it's hard to disagree with someone who doesn't really post ideas. I just have to respond to the incessant trolling.

i dont want to get into a pissing match. the guy has years of experience and knows that in order to become a true aviator one must build time and experience the many trials before moving on to a 121 company.
