Ok. Back from OMA. Got in the cockpit, looked at the Captain, and said, "Hey. Check this out." and pulled them out. He snatches them out of my hand, holds them close to his grinning face, and says: "No. Frickin'. Way!"
"Yes way, dude!"
"Holy crap, how did you do that!?"
So I told him. He laughed his ass off. In fact, we laughed pretty much the whole flight, about things I'm not even remotely willing to disclose on a public forum. At one point, we were both laughing so uncontrollably there was effectively no functioning flight crew for several seconds. Thank god for a quiet sector and good 'ol George (pronounced 'hor-hay' as it was born in Brazil.)
Had a little kid in on the flightdeck during boarding, letting him fiddle with the flight controls, shoot the "machine guns" (SPS test. Stick shaker and lights and so on. Big hit with the Playskool set.) and so on. I notice he's wearing a "Pirates of the Carribean" t-shirt. I say, "Hey, what do you think of my pirate heatset?? YAAARR!!" He thought very highly of it, and immediately crammed it onto his head.
One old biker dude in 2A saw it, grinned and pointed while nodding. I took this to mean "Nice." Although it could have equally meant "I'm gonna shiv you for that headset when I deplane." Either way, a compliment.
That's about it. Not as much as I had hoped. I'll post more as they come in, positive or negative. I'm waiting for someone to say something smart like "Gee, how'd you get those kind, huh?" To which I'll have to repsond with something like "You hafta earn 'em".
I'll also scan and post the written warning from the CPO, if one proves forthcoming.
Thanks for all the compliments guys!
