Protocol Question - finding JCers on my flight

The FA probably diden't want to ask the crew because she either hates her job, doesen't understand the concept of a aviation community, or was just scared that the capt would of gave her five right accross her face for bothering him during the pre-fight! :buck:

So tell us bout that E175! :)

Didn't get a chance to get into the cockpit, obviously, but what I did see of it looked pretty clean - lot of glass up there.

As a pax - seats were really comfy, only two on a side, decent amount of legroom - I'd say just over half as much as you'd get on a 738 in the exit row. Relatively quiet.

But what I really liked was that I could stand almost straight up in the aisle.

It was a fairly new airplane - really nice. While I was in PHL I happened to have a brief chat with the #1 seniority FO for the E170/175. He said he liked flying it, and no, he didn't want to upgrade any time soon. :)

Then he advised me not to get into aviation.

1st, unless you said JetCareers, she may have thought you were part of some religious group (JC) get it.....

Yeah - I actually had that very thought, so I said Jetcareers instead of JC - just used "JC" while typing.

We need to put a two stripe sticker on all of our bags....So FA "Do you know if the crew wears two stripes?" ..Bingo.

Republic Airlines is full of old crustys. Doubt many two stripers over there.

She probably had no clue what "JC" was, or what being a "member" of JC meant. It's possible she was a little scared maybe and not sure what to think if JC was like a fraternity or a Freemason or whatnot?

Sadly there's also F/As out there who for some reason have an attitude about pilots. I have no idea where this attitude comes from, but there's some F/As who'd rather chew off their left pinky toe than carry on a conversation with a pilot.

It's hard to say without having been there......
Yeah that seems like it could be a serious CRM issue, the aircraft commander (Captain) technically is in charge of the whole plane and her crew and it seems like the F/A-Pilot thing could be a big barrier in crew communication, like I hear about in CRM.

Oh it is at times.

Many flight attendants would rather run down the aisle naked than deal with a pilot.

This thread has got me thinking about slapping a JC sticker on a 500-pound laser-guided bundle of joy over here in Afghanistan.

Please do! It'll be the JC present to your friendly neighborhood taliban! Why not share the wealth?! Ridiculous Muslim fundamentalists need JC too....500lb style, that is! ;)

BTW......we want pictures too!

Well, since I don't actually have any stickers over here, I'll probably have to just print something out and tape in on there. Yeah, that won't look ghetto.

So I recall hearing Bombardier initially developed the -200 as a freighter.

That would have been SWAAWEEET! (only marginally slight :sarcasm:)

I know that you would love to fly one for the going commuter pay rate at a feeder carrier and take jobs away from IPA pilots, but I'm sorry to tell you that at a 14,000 pound payload, it exceeds the max payload that is allowed to be flown by a feeder. Therefore, IPA pilots would have to fly it and with our single pay scale, captain pay would max out at $223.55/hr or $217,961.25 per year at MIN guarantee, and as you commuter guys like to factor in, that does NOT include per diem.

Hell yes! :)

If you email me your APO, I'll send you some stickers!

Oh, but you see. . .that was a compliment. Because you guys have shown some backbone and stuck by your scope. . .instead of allowing it to erode.

Job well done.
