Hired at ExpressJet...

Hey congrats man! I take it you were in the afternoon interview group? If you're in the Aug 6th class I'll see you there!

get that union and i am there!

tim that is great man! so you will no longer be in kful. you are moving on to bigger and better things. congratulations and have a blast!

Re: Hired at ExressJet...

Congrats again Tim! It was wild to see you again, I didn't even recognize you in the suit (obviously)!

Haha, yeah, I was feelin pretty good in my fancy get-up yesterday... Plus add to that the fact that my barber nearly scalped me the other day. I went for a trim and I ended up with the #1 G.I. special. I didn't even recognize myself in the mirror for a bit.

Good to see you and Chris there, we should do a JC M&G at the xjt training center.

Congrats man!

Just how are you going to fit in that Embraer? :)

Haha, a few years ago before I blew all my money on flight training, I used to work at DEN late at night and over my time working there I managed try out the seat in nearly every airliner there is. I still think I fit best in a triple seven though :)

I know it can't be any worse than Cessna singles and the Seminole!

Congrats Tim...what were your times??
831/135

Honstly, I really don't think time matters at all if you meet their mins. My group had 3-4 freight pups, 3-4 younger CFIs, 2-3 older CFI types, a military pilot, and also "that guy" was in there too.

Congrats, Tim--that's awesome! Are you gonna aim for ONT?

Yeah, I definetly will be going for ONT. It's only a 45 min drive as opposed to the hour and a half for LAX. More important than that though, I want to do the braned flying. More traditional airline flying as opposed to the regional flying for another carrier. I am thinking the trips will be longer out of ONT, I will get to see more and not have to deal with the customs stuff... Plus less exposure at ONT than LAX, I figure maybe 2-4 landings a day there as opposed to maybe 7 being LAX based?

Then again, I imagine I have a pretty big checkride ahead of me so maybe I should worry about that first :)

Yep, you know what, one of the interviewers actually came in and asked if there was anyone there named Caffeine. He just missed you.

Hope ya get LAX!

ExpressJet's contract limits a crew to six legs per day.

Based at ONT you might average 2-3 legs per day and LAX maybe 2-4 legs per day.

Clearing customs is add pay. Nothing to avoid there. :D

Sweet!

You have to forgive me, my prior experience in working at an airline and dealing with customs has basically been to finish the day with one goal: "avoid getting fined".

I still have ONT above LAX though, I hear you get free food on the branded flights :)

Congrats Tim! I always knew you would have no problem getting hired when the time came! It was great working with you back in 'the day' and I know you will carry forward the same great attitude and professionalism to the 121 world. My only regret is that I won't be sharing the cockpit with you anytime soon!

Cheers to you and have fun in training!
