Channel 5 news here in PHX is reporting, get this, a United Express pilot (I'd hate to say the airline because they've taken so much heat already) is under investigation for "stealing an iPod" at Jacksonville.

Trying to find more info.

Whaaaaaatever.

Oh boy. This should get interesting. :panic: :insane:

I'm sure the pilot is trying to pawn the iPod so (s)he can buy groceries....since they certainly can't afford to eat on a regional pilot salary!

:sarcasm:

Maybe it's to listen to music while camping out in the airplane . . .:sarcasm:

I sure would like to have a media to report on how lame the media is in their accuracy:banghead:

I can already think of the categories of responses for this.

"That's what happens when you pay them 20K a year!"

"I bet he had sunglasses and a backpack on."

"Airline ___ sucks, ___ is better."

"It's the FAA's fault -- if there hadn't been a long groundstop to ___ airport, he wouldn't have been in the airport for so long."

Because it's just not possible that he thought that IPod was his, right? Not at all. I mean, they're so different that nobody could make that mistake. Clearly, he must have intended to take someone else's. And he probably hates 'merica and puppies, too.:sarcasm:

Shoot, he needs it so he has something to do in the cockpit. The CA told him that unless the VSI is pegged and there is no reaction from me (CA), just sit there and shut up. Lords knows he has no business being in the cockpit of an rj at 350 hrs....:sarcasm:

"A TSA agent showed the office a tape of an airline pilot placing a container, used to hold passenger's personal items during screening, over another container, then removing an item from the lower container, the report said."

"______ was in the cockpit of United Express Flight 7332 when officers found him and asked him to deplane, according to the police report.Newton admitted to having the iPod his possession, the report said.He claimed he took the iPod because he said it would just be confiscated by airport employees, according to the report."

I dunno, doesn't look like a simple mistake to me. Not surprising when I think of some of the regional FOs I've seen walking around the airport.

Shoot, some of us mainline guys will cut you and steal your wallet. :sarcasm:

Well, if this is the case, then the guy's a bleeping idiot. Toss your career away for an IPod you can get on Ebay for something like $300?

Real bleeping smart.

No doubt!!

No more airline job for him......EVER!!

dumb kids

1 - With all the ipods stolen during a given day why report this one one?

2 - With all the news that occurs during the day why deem this story newsworthy?

3 - Why dont any of the professional pilot organizations have a stronger PR agenda?

4 - Why..... am I late AGAIN!!!!???? Gotta go see ya!

A criminal act committed by airport security and the passenger is the victim. That is ridiculous.

Is anyone else nearly embarrassed to simply stand near the TSA while in uniform in fear of being associated with the screening process?
