Chicago Aircraft Rental

Any suggestions for a place to rent a 172 or the like in the Chicago area? I know about PWK but was hoping something more around the south side.

Try Griffith/Merrillville airport in Indiana. It is located about 5 miles south of Gary. They have 1 172. I think its about $75/hour. They also have a couple 150's, a few warriors, and a 310. Number is 219 942-0207.
 
A&M Aviation is in Bolingbrook, IL out of Clow Airport 1C5. I trained there a few years ago and they had 172s then, and at a reasonable price. Hope that helps. :)

I train there now and the rates and instruction are top-notch IMHO. Keep in mind, they are a club, so you would have to become a member in order to enjoy the best (tachometer/hour) rates. I researched a number of other flight schools in the area, and got a very good vibe from A&M - which continues. Folks can PM me for details.
