There's no question that we're behind the inflation curve, as is the majority of the middle class. Thankfully, due to scope clauses, I don't have to worry about only making $50,000 in the right seat hauling 100+ passengers around at the regional level.

Kyle NOTHING personal man, you are a great dude but...

Scope clauses were put in with ALPA guidance.

Secondly, I know this had been beaten dead, but how exactly is your company a 'regional' when a crew can see Halifax, Nova Scotia to Los Angeles on one trip flying aircraft with the same sized airplanes that majors used to see.

$50,000 for flying a CRJ-900 is sickening. It is sickening that we look at it like it is ok they start us at 19K but then we make 45K our second year. Makes no sense to me.

Yep! We all wish that they had had a little more foresight back in the early '90s.

That's why I like Mike Boyd's term of "small jet provider."

I do think it's ridiculous that the industry norm is for starting salaries to be where they are!

Agree with you there. But it could have been a lot worse. Thank goodness they have SOMETHING in place. In my mind anything over 18 seats should be flown by mainline payscales.

Do divulge your secrets!! We got some pilots here who need to know!! :)

Bid min credit, then drop all you can via swap board. Then pick up trips in open time for 1.5x pay.

It's even mo better when you can negotiate for deadhead pay for trips which start out of domicile if you're a commuter, or if you happen to be in the city anyways.

Best case is you end up making the same $$$ with a few more days off, or the same # of days off for a bit more $$$.
