I thought there were some eye-opening quotes in here as to what Wall Street analysts think of us....

The short story on SkyWest is that it is nimbler than the big legacy carriers and not burdened by their bloated labor costs. It has a steady earnings stream, good cash flow and an attractive price-to-earnings ratio of 11. It enjoys a reputation for being an efficient, low-cost operator and the best-managed regional airline in the business.

Importantly, SkyWest’s pilots are not unionized and never have been, which helps to keep labor costs under control and historically accounts for the airline’s excellent on-time performance record (SkyWest was named the No. 1 on-time airline in the U.S. by the Department of Transportation for 2003, 2004 and 2005).

Yeah, 19K a year sounds real bloated?

Nah, he's saying that its the legacy carriers that have bloated labor costs. Also, everybody likes to talk about the 19k/yr, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. My first year at SKW, before taxes, will be almost 28K (still low IMO), and I've been holding 14-15 days off a month and about 85-90hrs credit.

I realize that, I was being a little sarcastic. I was just speaking figuratively about the industry in general and how low the pay has come down.

If any of you knuckleheads buy airline stock, I will personally come over to your home and give you the ultimate weggie.

Then I'll ro-sham-bo them too! ;)

Better yet, give ME the money, I'll pocket it and save them the brokerage fees.

What if the Airlines were just one huge business? Ran by strong, smart, and ethical people. People who don’t need 28 million dollar bonuses. Flat rates for regional, national, and international flights. No unions, just people with some common sense, and a general care for their fellow men and women. No greedy dumb a$$es, I think it would be a profitable stable environment that would boost the economy. Yes, competitors are good for prices, products and services, it keeps people striving to be better, perform better, and have better employee relations, and in some cases keep CEO’s honest and fair. But what if… we didn’t need that for the Airlines? What if the Airlines were ran by a private organization but controlled by the FAA. Where people who didn’t have to worry about there pensions or futures. Where management honestly cared about their employees…. What if….

Airline stock......yeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhh......

Good idea......

....and would you like to buy my brand new football bat?

Friends don't let friends buy airline stock.

Amen.

Forbes cracks me up. Has anyone here honestly looked at an option chain for SKYW or any other airline for that matter? Ya exactly. Sometimes you play options as a hedging move for stock you own and vice versa. I never make a trade I can't hedge and airlines are terrible choices to trade.

The only way I would ever ever trade airline stock would be if I was an employee and recieved it at a 15 % discount and I would still trade it asap. Wait a second I would never even do that either. Airlines totally and completely baffle me in the trading world, Im amazed that they even continue.

So you too, huh? And the ##### about these emails is that they always have a different heading/email address so it is impossible to block them.
