You heard it hear first!!! Gulfstream International Airways is hiring F.O's for thier Operations. No PFT!!! I repeat No PFT!!! I saw on another site that they were hurting really bad for Pilots right now and may be about to do away with that PFT Crap all togheter. I called H.R. this morning and ws told to submit my resume'.

let's see how it goes!! Anyone else care to try??

Wow, I like totally called that on a post just the other day - a guy on another board mentioned that they were hurting for FOs - keeping guys in the PFT program they'd normally cut. I'd love to fly for them since they have a Tampa base, but I lack the time. Maybe the PFT program is hurting so badly that they'll put an end to it.

I am thinking with the low hours to get hired, it is hitting them with the reduced amount of people applying for the program. GOOD!
Now not sure I would want to fly with them in the next decade as people will question if you were in it before/after the fall of PFT.

True, but I think to be able to get a local base and have the chance of being home every night, it'd be worth it. This really makes me want to get a loan and finish up really quick, actually.

Personally I wouldn't fly for them in any capacity while they still have a PFJ program.

How much would it suck to be in the last class of PFT'ers before they disband the program and just start hiring with a Comm-Multi? Karma I suppose.

I still think it is a horrible move by someone going there to work.

But going there to work, you are still assisting GIA in their little PFT program. Still helping a company who has done so much damage to the industry.

You *do* realize that a significant amount of the current crop of "regionals" were PFT as well, right? Comair, Continental Express (ExpressJet) etc.

That is true but someone there saw the light and axed that program. When these companies were doing this in the 90's jobs were a premium and they could get away with it. Times have changed. Maybe its the first step in GIA doing the same thing. Looks like JC's member spreading the word maybe paying off.

That "someone" was the union ;). I think even ExpressJet's new contract had something in there about repaying the guys that were still on property their initial PFT payment, although someone could correct me.

I have a friend who left Colgan about 3 months ago for a street captain position w/ Gulfstream. He lives in the Keys and it was a QOL issue for him. I told him about the negatives and he went anyway. I understood as it would get him home much more often than flying in the NE. Well, I just talked to him about a week ago.......he is sorry he made the switch and said he wouldn't do it again knowing what he knows now. He was saying how bad the mx is and that it's just a very poorly run business, etc.....

But hey, he's logging TPIC! ;) :sarcasm:

I was just using the word "someone" in general terms. At least the light shown bright.

I love rumors....its what makes the jet blast blow and the props spin

I thought the bean burritos at ORD made the planes go!

(Anybody else remember the old place upstairs between the G and H&K concourses at ORD where you'd get a burrito the size of Rhode Island for like $2? This was the old place up there about 15 years ago, long before the bagel place and Panda Express etc were there.....)

I actually do from the 1980's, when F/G were UAL's only gates! There was also a place for good polish dogs too, but I think it was gate level at the end of F if I remember correctly.

A long, long time ago, at least for ExpressJet.

Keyword.

They changed. GIA has the potential to change as well. To each his own, but I won't be rushing to go and work for them while they still have a PFJ/PFT program.
