Best Flight School in DFW

Skymates rocked for sure.

I haven't flown outta there in a while though, but last time I was there it was as hard as an FF boner to get on the schedule.

I fly out of KFTW now, I do the 02/03 SPs for about 70 bucks an hour when everything is said and done!

Once I get checked out on the G1000 I'll have 2 more A/C to fly for that price.

Not bad says I!

Ps, Mike, I'm not moving from DFW, so if you could uhhhh go ahead and uhh get me hired at the 181st AS that would be great, thanks a lot!

Pretty stinkin' easy to get to Alliance, but I'm not sure there are any schools on the field out there. If I don't go with Skymates, I'm thinking right now that Marcair out of Northwest Regional (52f next door to Alliance) is my number one pick, though I'm definitely going to check out the other schools mentioned. Denton is a very easy drive as well.

NOPE, No schools at AFW but YES go over to MarcAir and tell 'em what you want to do and they will make it happen. Great group of people and great aircraft, nothing more than 5 years old (unless you count the tail-draggers and the 150 but I think they got rid of it)... I love to fly their 172s!!! Plus the airport is fun on those "windy" texas days of summer...

DTO, US Flight Academy has really cleaned up their stuff and I would recommend them if you want to drive a little further (bout the same as going to GKY, although opposite rush hour traffic).

See ya around the patch...

Not sure if I would want to have a school at AFW. Some FAA guy might get bored on a coffee break and decide to wander down to "help."

I know there's a little sarcasm in :yeahthat: but...

(So I've heard from a pretty reputable source)
Actually its part of Perot's / Hillwood Properties "rules" for AFW. Plus the lease on any land at AFW is so absurdly high that a Flight School couldn't survive unless it had corporate backing (ie Bell Training Center).

Man it would be cool to be based at AFW though, <5 min drive to work, great field, awesome controllers, what more could I ask for!!!
