If he's going to UPT it'll be assigned at the end of UPT...basically. Unless he goes to an F-15 or F-16, and then he gets the actual assignment after he completes F-15/F-16 school. A-10's might do the same thing.

All of the heavy assignments include the aircraft and the location, though. You find out about 3-4 weeks before graduation.

We get our UPT bases in 290 days--so far away
Im putting:
Whiting Field
Columbus (Would put this first, but i lived there for 19 years so i wanted something else)
Del Rio
Vance

im hoping to go to c-17s or kc-10s. I really want to transfer over to the KC-767 when we get them

You'll love the 767 if that's what you're awarded. It's a gentleman's aircraft. Do you know, is it based off the -200 or -300?

No idea Doug. Haven't heard too much about it. But if i get that in a few years, then i can relate with you :)

Apparently it's supposed to based on the 767-200ER. Here's linky: http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/kc767/

All us tanker, and former tanker drivers (like me, but I'm flying tweets now and soon to be t-6's) are waiting for the 76 tanker. It's the new big sexy!! I think it will be another 10 years before the first squadron is operational, though.

Congrats Ian!!! Now you have the harder part, staying focused on the zoo for those last few weeks until your final march into the stadium!

Fish, the 76 will make it's way out after we're long gone to ever see it. Well, I'm already gone, but you know what I meant...
