Republic Hires 430 Hr Pilot!

When I interviewed for X national airline for the internship, the applicants and the HR person was surprised by the ammount of multi time that I had. I think it helps, especially when MOST, if not all aviation universities leave you with 35-60ME time.

There are times, though when airlines don't hire just from colleges, so they don't care what most universities are slotting for multi.

Back to the original topic though. More power to her, its very tempting to make the jump being a low timer myself. I just KNOW that I will be more prepared in another 400-500 hours than I am now. Like Falcon said though, its a choice.

How much sim time did YOU get?

You don't need 2 430's do you?

I love the 2 430s one-liner. When you buy a new Seminole, you aren't paying for the 2 430s, you're paying for a new airplane. They put the 2 430s in there to make the airplane more desirable. Piper doesn't want University "A" to say that they don't want all that extra equipment so we want the airplane for less, because they want maximum profit. So, you get x Seminoles for x amount of dollars and anyone would want what everyone else is getting for equipment, too. Piper would be crazy to not offer that package for that amount of business and University "A" would be crazy to not accept it.

disgusting? I think not:insane: Do what you can to feed the family!

I will refrain from stating my true thoughts on this one, other then saying many people do what it takes to feed the family. Being a CFI as opposed to flying as a f/o at a regional pay is pretty much the same pay therefore it'd be feeding the family. Plus if you CLICK on the picture I HIGHLY doubt she has a family as young as she is. Just my 2 cents though but that family is getting fed pretty well with the regional pay? Better arguement would be great ;)!

No, I'm not kidding.

You're implying that because she had 230 Multi they DRASTICALLY cut back on the TT requirement. That is not the case.

They drastically cut back on the TT requirement because she was an ATP instructor, had a lot of multi, and took an RJ course. This is of course part of the agreement ATP has with Republic. There's a reason the regionals keep snatching ATP instructors with drastically reduced time don't you think?:nana2:

I you guys can't tell, I'm trying to kill this pointless thread by boring the heck out of yall.

Out of all due respect to S.T.Aviator, though. The thread didn't start out this way...

Because they are just that highly trained that you are unable to get a propoer training any where else? A plane is just that difficult at such a primary stage that you are only able to train at ATP to get the proper training an airline wants? Wait or perhaps those who actually sit back for months working on a CFI and understanding FULLY the dynamics of what a CFI has to know has no more knowledge then one who gets all three done in 2 weeks? Bro no offense but just because you have a tie with ATP doesnt make it an end all great program dude. Just as many great ways to get your hours out there. 230ME doesnt make her a great pilot and the guy arguing about the 50 sim has a great case, just because she has the 230ME doesnt mean that some of those arent sim hours.

Secondly REGIONALS are snatching up pilots any where not just ATP however for a Republic to do such is very interesting to say the least. Kind of shocking when it comes down to it but she will do great since she was able to get all the suplements that ATP provides for the EMB probably eh?

Oh van interesting......

I think it'd be worth saying also I'm not trying to bash ATP or anything but being a LOW time pilot with the possibility of being able to go and buy some multi I can tell you one thing just because I might have my 250 now and go buy 200 ME doesnt make me ready to fly a regional jet. Plain and simple, so therefore your arguement would have to be because she went to ATP and got all her MULTI she is different?

Yup! I can think of a couple.
1) Passing a sim check is easy.
2) If you hire someone with a couple of hundred hours, you can pay them crap and they're not going to complain, because they would otherwise be instructing.
3) ATP has some really agressive marketing.

Don't think for a second that going to ATP makes you "special" in any way--that attitude is not going to fly well at all later on, especially if you get hired with low time. My company will interview ATP instructors with 850hrs (I don't know exactly why, but my guess would be that money exchanged hands somewhere) but won't let them attend ground school unless they meet the same hiring minimums as everyone else.

You don't want to get into a pissing match about who's school gets hired with lower time to fly bigger airplanes, etc...I think Sierra Academy and IFTA would have ATP owned in that category. I think ATP provides solid training and produces some really good pilots, but I can't stand their marketing.

Thank goodness for Skywest eh?
