I'm hurting for CFIs here in the DC area. I'm finding that flight schools all over need CFIs, but I thought I'd keep putting the word out.
The airlines are really hiring with low minimums and two of our guys just left for the regionals. We've got a great school here at KGAI and pay quite competitively. We fly mainly Cessnas with a glass 172 and a Seminole on line as well. We've even got an instructor here with low-rent housing rooms available but you can find affordable housing here in a very nice suburb of DC.

Let me know via PM or phone if you're interested!

Any interest in taking a 1200h CFII that is only interested in using his MEI to go from 20h multi to 100h multi. I'd gladly give you 2 months, but you'll have to moderate the fist fights that'll break out between me and the other instructors when I try to steal all the ME students!! Sound like a deal?:D (btw I'm partially serious)

ha!
I know of the fistfights you speak of. You know, with your time, you might be able to just go ahead and start applying.

As for 300TT w/ CFI and not II-- that' s fine, and we can help you get your II while you're here. I'll PM you and give you some more info.
God I love JC.

hold on-- before you blow the whistle on me-- and scare everyone off :-)

The suburbs out by where the airport is are very affordable. We are about 20 minutes up from the city. I was really concerned about it when I moved here but I did a little research and got a great place for 425 a month (actually in Chevy Chase). Additionally, I have helped everyone I've interviewed and subsequently hired to find housing here. I think Craigslist is a good place to start.

A lot of the people I've talked to are concerned about housing costs here-- but there have been plenty of CFIs here that have done the job and found good decent places to live.

But in any event, this is a challenging place to fly so I think it's a good experience for any new CFI.

Right on! I love suburban MD! I was totally with you until this:

$425 a month in Chevy Chase! Awhattheheck?!?! I don't believe it for a minute! :)

I would have *killed* for a job here when I was instructing. The two summers I spent in Rockvegas/Silver Spring were hands down the most fun I've had. Good luck!
