Jetblue pilot requirements!

jetBlue is currently my #2 choice. I flew with a CA who's fiance is a FA over there, and got the scoop on a lot of stuff. We've had guys leaving by the pound to go over there, too. Everyone I've talked to seems to really like it. Even had one of the first pilots they hired on my JS outta IND one day. He said they have yet to deny a re-up on one of the 5 year contracts. Basically, if you do what you're supposed to, you'll have a job just like anywhere else. The fact that the guy that WOULD have been our next MEC chairman here at PCL is now over there kinda quells my fears about them being non-union.

That sucks for anyone considering JBLU if they're flying the EMB120 or BE1900 for MTOW. Both aircraft dont qualify for mins.

I believe the EMB-120 is 26,400 LBs at Max Take Off Weight so it should fullfill this requirement. The site does seem a little vague regarding TP's.:whatever:

"• 1000 hours in airplanes at or above 20,000 pounds (maximum takeoff weight) or 1000 hours in large jet-powered airplanes at or above 12,500 pounds (maximum takeoff weight)"

So that's to say something like a DC-6 for the first condition, and maybe something like a Gulfstream 2 for the second (I don't actually know the weight of a G2, I'm just guessing).

I'm thinking when they say "jet powered" they mean turbojet. What's the max gross on a Citation or an older Falcon?

Most of the Citations are over 12,500. I think some of the early Citation I's, as well as the CJ1 are under 12,500 but don't quote me on that. We have a Falcon 10 at our place, but I don't fly it - I think max gross is in the 19,000 lb. range on that bird.

So that's probably what they're talking about when they say "jet powered" over 12,500 but under 20,000.
