 A few questions here. I see that most regionals require 100 min. multi time. Does this 100 require you to be inst/comm?(multi) or could I just get the multi private then time build? I know that seems to be the expensive way as oppossed to becoming a multi intructor.
Thanks in advance,

You must have a commercial multi with instrument priviledges (you can't fly a multi-engine airplane for hire without a commercial multi), but there is no requirement to be an multiengine instructor at most airlines.

I think he's wondering if the 100 hours has to come after obtaining the inst/commercial license, and the answer is no.

Also, most companies are now at 50 multi, and some (Air Midwest - 1900's) don't require anything except the basic commercial/multi/inst rating.

Thank you for the responses! So let me make sure I understand this.
I can build the 100 hours however I see fit,but if I want to apply to a regional ill have to add the comm/inst. to be considered for the job?

If you want to fly for a regional, you *must* have a commercial multi/instrument (it wouldn't be legal otherwise).

Gentlemen(or ladies) thank you! Still new to all this and trying to budget all my training-)
Thanks again!
