So...anyone know about this? Got the email from the job postings list serve.

EDIT: It's Piedmont, not Pinnacle.

anyway, what do i know about it? all i know is Jim Higgins mentioned it in class today... he made it sound like more-or-less, if you graduate.... they'll hire you.

his words, not mine.

Well it's definitely low. This seems reminiscent of the Ab-initio days. I'm going to stay here until I have the hours to go with my "plan A," but it's nice to know they're there in case I get desperate (don't know why I would though).

Yuck. I do not understand why people talk about this around campus as if its a good thing.

getting a job right off the bat is not a bad thing at all.

getting a job that pays you less than the manager at mcdonalds, gives you a terrible quality of life, and then disposes of you like used TP at the next slight recession.... thats not so good.

just gotta sift and be a little choosy for yourself and find a company that fits you and will respect you as an asset. (which i notice most of these kids dont have ANY idea about doing.... WOO! BIG SHINY JET!!! YEA KEWL SIGN ME UP!!)

and anyway, having employers coming begging for applicants is GREAT! it puts the power back into your/my/our hands to actually demand a decent wage and work environment where we are treated like the professionals we are (becoming).... right?

hmm if we really do get to the ab-intio point, i wonder if i can manage to get hired by an airline doing that, and then backcharge them for my education that i paid for out-of-pocket?

The ball(s) is in ya'lls court here. Whenever you hear the SJS crowd drooling over this (300 hours to get hired and PCL) you need to speak up LOUDLY, even if it is in class. Some of the higher ups at UND are just as guilty of spreading SJS as the spikey haird, Ipod listening, backpack wearing, etc etc are.

20 bucks an hour to sit reserve at PCL or any other regional is a joke. Five plus year upgrades, just to sit reserve again at 45 bucks an hour is a bigger joke.

There are "mo betta" flying jobs out there that will give you a better industry experience and better piloting experience AND probably open the doors to even better jobs.

Word. Dude, the upgrade scene here is starting to scare me. I'm within three months of holding it now, an word is we have between a 50 and 75 percent fail rate. Too bad I can't just take Sam's place, eh? :D

Dude, you have absolutely nothing to fear, especially when it comes to upgrading. There is one glaring difference between you and those that fail upgrade. You give more the .02 craps about being a proficient pilot. I am positive you could walk in there tomorrow and pass the updgrade oral, ride and IOE without any training. I mean seriousley dude, someone has to balance out the fact that SDAN and biggie nicky are captains!

chalk it up! we agree again!

That's pretty much my motivation right there! How's the new job? Are you done with training now?

I leave on Sunday for 5 days of king air training then done for good. These "little" jet drivers don't know how good they have it. In the words of my mentor (Vader) "All too easy..."

I had to bite my tounge in advanced aero today. You should have heard all the "ooohs and ahhhhs" while Zedlike was announcing this. We had a test to take and I wanted to get the hell out of there so I could drive home. I kinda wished I would have spoken up though. There were at least 5 other people in there shaking their heads with me.

What happened with XJET?

It was a combination of things. Being told "Not to worry about a headset and start studying", reading on FI how there is a "distaste" for furloughees at XJET and having a real good flying gig land in my lap here at home.

ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

OMG. I can so see that.

At that amount of time, there'd be NO WAY I'd feel completely comfortable with my own self flying a large jet carrying a lot of passengers.
