DUI???

Wasn't sure where to post this. Received a DUI in 2005 In California. Just got stopped in a friends car that had expired Tags. The rest is History. I know I am still an idiot though, but sh$t happens. Anyways at the time I really wasn't sure what to do. I asked a couple of CFI's and they said not to worry about it or not to say anything. I am a law obiding citizen though, and did send the 14 CFR 61.15 letter. I know there must be similar cases out there, but I was just wondering if anybody had some first hand experience with this situation. I am currently only holding a Private Certificate but plan on attending a part 141 school really soon and was just wondering if this going to really hinder me from jobs, or even a CFI Job. Or should I just leave it as it is and never mention it again. I was of age when I got stopped. Any info would be great.

Thank you

If you notified them as you stated, you just need to report it on your medical. The AME will make a comment in Block 60 and you will be good to go.

Hey Welcome Aboard!!!

Although it is not a bigy for this but please if you really wanna be a pilot don't screw with your future, there will always be time to have that drink but you don't get a lot ofchances to get a First Class medical if you screw around too much.

Everything should be fine just try to stay out of trouble!! (A friendly advice)

DUI's??? pshhh! I have 4 on record... but don't let that fool you, I'm still a good driver AND pilot!

As far as having problems getting hired.... well, you just better not do it again.... and if you do, you're an idiot, but please don't end up like that one guy from UND in the Seminole!

Since I haven't heard from you as to weather or not you were kidding, I take it you are not, and you really do have 4 DUI's. No I won't let you fool me into thinking you are a good driver. I don't think you actually had an intelligent thought go through your head when you wrote that post. I can't believe you're not embarrassed to admit you've had 4 DUI's and your only 21 years old? And with 4 DUI's do you actually think NetJets will even interview you let alone hire you? And not even a hint of remorse. I suggest you read FiveO's most recent post: http://www.jetcareers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41376

That was by far the most absurd and ridiculous statement ever posted on JC.

Why do you even post that?

I'm very glad I no longer have to dodge blue and white Bonanzas around BFL with somebody like you teaching future pilots. I'm angered by your post because its people like you that force random drug testing and strict hiring processes because of your complete lack of common sense.

Its people with that attitude that bring the profession down!

From what I understand, probably toughest thing about a DUI in terms of flying career (assuming it's an isolated incident, and NOT a pattern) is that a conviction now makes a person inadmissible to Canada. This is a problem for carriers that fly into Canadian cities, as flight crews must have Canadian travel privileges. The details: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/index.html

Not sure how they'd find out though....

Dudes if he had four DUI's he'd be in jail right now eh?

:yeahthat:

Come on people......! Some things are so far out that you don't need a sarcasm tag.....

Here in MN, a 3rd DUI conviction in a rolling 10 years is a felony offense. You will be in the clink.

:rotfl: If you thought my post was absurd and ridiculous then maybe you shouldn't take it seriously

C'mon.... its people like you that make this profession boring. You must be like those boring, grumpy captains that can't take a joke! You don't even have a cool, hip avatar like the rest of us, haha :p

I was thinking of just saying 2 DUI's, but didn't think that was exagerrated enough... thought 4 would do..... I guess I thought wrong

LOL... I feel so freaking honored.... someone quoted me!!! :D

Thanks FlyingTurk!

Oh, and I get enough of what FiveO has to say from my older bro... he's a detective... been a cop for like 8 years, so "keep cool my babies," I'm no crazy driver or pilot :p

I've got 38 DUI's.

But it was while I was an airline CEO so I just had to go to "Tent City" but on the pink underwear, eat the bologna sandwich and got to leave a few hours later.
