Delta Connection Academy

Mr. Fabio. The deal was between you and him. That's it...

I'll recommend him at UPS if he asks me (which he hasn't).

At the moment, he has you beat by a mile, I'd say. But neither of you has reach the goal, so who knows how it will play out.

I just think it's worth noting that some poor kid who I trained under 61 has done quite well in comparasion to the DCA "this is how to become an airline pilot" role model. Spent less money and is farther ahead. He blows the DCA marketing out of the water....which has been my point for years...

Geez all of this hatred for The Sanford Pilot Factory. I will admit it's not heaven on earth, but it really doesn't deserve all of this hatred. And no I am not a DCA apologist. Oh and yes their marketing does suck.

I know how that sounds... But I was there in Duluth when our President, Capt. Gary Beck and Richard Morris took delivery of the first aircraft. The order was for 50 aircraft, last I've heard they will arrive 4 to 6 per month starting on May. There are lots of other plans, and the full motion sims are part of it too...

I understand that and I was told the same thing when I started. My only problem is the way the ad is phrased leads one to believe that these things are presently in existence. And there in lies my issue with the ad.

If I remember the whole intent of this was to see which way was quicker. Turns out I am not the norm at DCA due to my financial freedom. I have a lot more options. ALL, I mean all, the guys that were students, became instructors at the same time as I did, are now flying a jet on a top tier, regional airliine and some of them are now getting to the majors... Your friend might have me beat by a mile... But is he flying a 121 operator? The notion that you could get to a top tier 121 Regional job out right out of part 61 when we started this a couple of years ago did not hold true. Sure with the current pilot shortage, this has changed. But do not compare Ameriflight with Chautauqua, Express Jet, COMAIR, American Eagle and SkyWest...

And, BTW... some students actually told me they got to DCA due to the ramblings on this Forum... so thank you all very much for talking about us and becoming part of DCA Marketing!!!

"But is he flying a 121 operator?"

121? 135? Pic turbine is pic turbine, don't you think?

You didn't lose yet, so no reason to make excuses....

"some students actually told me they got to DCA due to the ramblings on this Forum"

This site, and DCA, have quite a history. And if you want to thank Doug and Jetcareers for bringing folks to DCA rather than educating them as to the ill's of DCA, well, more power to ya. That's some good koolaid they got down there.....

:yeahthat: A lot of people ask me why did you go to DCA when there was so much on JC about it. My answer is that's why. Thanks for turning me away from Pan Am and FSA.

Hey Howard!

Thanks for the nice comments here guys.

I was called by Chautauqua a year ago for an inteview... but my wife was making so much money at the time that she begged me not to go. Instead she told me to keep flying part-time at the school and work on real-state on the side.

After being bored for a while, I got hired as a contract pilot by Charter Air Transport, a 135 operator that flies EMB-120 "Brasila" aircraft. So there you go, the big Brazilian flying the "Brasilia". Most Captains are ex-Comair and have a ton of flight time. As they say " Son, I have more time -gear-in-transit, than you have total time!". They are great people. I am able to fly twice a month for them.

( by the way the weight is 290 not 350... and I just started the Nutrisystem thing... in order not to compete with the bastard...)

Later last year I was offered the position of Manager of Flight Training for DCA - Sanford. I am currently Asssistant Chief Flight Instructor also.

The way I see it, my job is to help the students achieve their goals and help the instructors get to the Airlines. I do my best to make everyone's life easier... And I do care for all.

There are a lot of changes being implemented in a very short amount of time and that sometimes generates confusion and disconfort.

Good news:

We have started the flight testing of the Cirrus SR-20 in order to complete the Flight Standards Manual. The second aircraft will be delivered soon, according to CIRRUS and the program will improve a lot. Once the new fleet is fully operational and with a few other surprises coming later this
year, we expect very exciting times for our students!

Nutrisystem??? Compete?? C'mon FAb!! Lets' me and you try to squeeze into a Seminole and watch the wieght and balance go to hell!! :) !! Glad to hear from ya!!!

That would be funny... get your hours yet?

That Nutrisystem thing... 4 full days on it and already got rid of 6lb of lard... not bad at all!!!

Fabio:
Nice to see you posting again. And glad someone is still left at DCA who can throw his weight around!

Also, you have one of the essential ingredients for a career in aviation - a wife who has a job.

Hi Pat,

Glad to know you had a good time in the Phillipines... I've met some great people from over there when I was living in the islands...

A wife with a job is indeed essential...

Hey there, does anyone on here attend DCA's Dayton, Ohio campus? I'm currently at the Hollywood, FL base (not SFB) and I love it. I need to get out of Florida, though.

Anyone who knows ANYTHING about DCA Dayton, please write back or e-mail me (ILuvAlsie@aol.com) or message me on MySpace (www.myspace.com/kimbobwe)

Thank you so much!

-Kimberly
