Eagle Desperate

Wow,no DFW CRJ!
Nope. Eagle hasn't hired anyone into the CRJ in DFW since May or June of last year (2006).

After 9 months, I am still #6 from the bottom.

HOWEVER.....

Things are going to move starting VERY soon here. Still don't see anyone getting hired into the CRJ in DFW as we are over-staffed. ORD could use some CRJ FO's though.

Is that the most sought after/senior plane at Eagle or something?

The CRJ is senior captain-wise, but not so much FO-wise. Current EMB FO's are not allowed to bid to the CRJ (or vice versa) because it would not mean a pay increase. The only people who can go to the CRJ as FOs are those currently flying props or newhires.

In my opinion, the EMB is a better airplane to have as an FO. More airplanes, more lines, more variety in the flying, and the pay is the same. Like I said, just my opinion.

I heard that AE was gonna exercise it's options with Bombardier on the 700 and add more to the fleet! But don't take my word for it. Could be just another airline rumot! As for EMB FO's not being able to bid the 700,that's stupid.

If they want to fly a 70 seat plane for the same 50 seat pay let em have it I say!

So true! We need more planes & more routes.

Although, as for the aircraft itself - every single captain I've flown with who had flown the EMB says that - hands down - the CRJ is like driving a Cadillac while flying the EMB is like driving a Yugo. ;)

That rumot has been floating around for some time.

It won't happen any time soon if it does happen at all.

Not sure how long it takes for the HR people to respond...

The reason an FO cannot switch jets is because it costs the company money to retrain you.

The other popular rumor about the 700 is that Embraer will buy our current 25 airplanes and sell them in exchange for our purchasing the 170...

I have 930/100 and have not got a call from them yet.

I was e-mailed and called the day I updated with over 1,000tt.
I had an internal rec on the online system and they still didn't call until I had 1,000.

I think they are pretty firm on the 1,000 unless you did a bridge program.

I was the low timer of my interview group...it was a little intimidating....the others had like 2,000-8,000 hrs and turbine time. Although there was one person with 500hrs and a CRJ type rating and some advanced training.

It's been a couple of months since this thread has seen activity, and I was wondering how things have progressed in AE's dilemma for hiring new hands. Any update?

Yup.

Hey crash: one of the guys in my new-hire class has been down in SJU for the first year and was just awarded Embraer/DFW.

You looking to transition yet?

yep, just got LGA. I am so happy no more commuting.

And the best part is I start training on April 2nd, only 2 more commutes to SJU.

HEY NOW!!! Congrats!! Welcome back to the States. :D

Yea I am really happy. But now I have to go through long term training again which sucks. Plus I have to go through indoc again since I am moving from executive to eagle.

I can't wait to eat Subway from a gas station everyday for dinner. UMMMMMMM!!!
