User fee Proposal in FY2008 Budget from FAA

Does anyone think the democratic senate/congress would be more sympathetic to GA than a republican senate/congress?

Also...what're Cessna or Piper doing about this? A ruling like this would destroy their business. Also, worst case scenario if this is made law how long would it take to go into effect?

Democrats would be more sympathetic to GA.

Also, look at Clinton and his GA Revitalization Act.
 
Not much, this has been in the works for years. Anybody that has been working in the flight instructing world with the American training market knows that things are slowly dying in this country for general aviation. It's simply too expensive these days unless you're uuber rich.

Yeah and Cessna was going to save the day with that new sport plane they were coming out with. The one that was supposed to be the new affordable airplane for everyone.

I believe it checks in with a sale price of just $150,000 or so.

I gotta pick one of those up next week!

GA is on the way out no matter what happens with the user fees issue.

Wow, this pisses me off. I'm 16, no job yet, my airport may be taking a turn for the worse (want to "upgrade it," which means higher prices for everything), and now user fees coming. I can't wait till I'm in college and get to pay for my ratings then while I have even less money! :sarcasm:

These people in suits don't realize the impact GA has on our economy, and if they do, they simply DO NOT CARE. They think because a 152 goes over the capitol we are all terrorists.

Oh well no sense ranting, get on the phone!
