Place has been pretty silent recently.

I have a feeling Spencer is no longer with Falcon. He was pretty good at replying to questions, and the like. Perhaps he will surprise us and let us know any new developments. I know I'm pretty set at attending them in late May / Early June to do my IFR - COMM - ME - CFI training and hopefully get on with them to instruct.

That's good to know. Not too sure how aware the school is about their presence here.

Have any recent news to give to us by chance? Perhaps anything about their PDK or CCO location(s)?

I sure don't my friend. A lot of the CFI's are leaving... (Which is a good thing) Last time I was there everything seemed normal.

Roger. Hope they have one that is going to be willing to work with me Mon-Sat 8-6 for 3 or 4 months straight starting in June.

They have add schools at PDK also. I think they are up to 4 locations: FFC, CCO, PDK, and AHNs.

I have been rather busy and havent kept with anything new there either. Maybe I need to mosey on by and check things out soon and report back.

Sounds like a lot of exciting things are going on with this company. I just wonder what their "core business" is going to be? Will it be Charter and Aircraft Management? Will be it Flight Training? Maybe Sales? As they grow, maybe they'll make a move into multi-site FBOs and MROs? A lot of great stuff! Just not sure how this leaves the Flight School in long term planning since a Flight School tends to have a low gross margin compared to this other stuff, and might not be a strong compliment if Aircraft Management and Charter is becoming the core business.

Here is a press release I seen while reading today (strange, I seen no mention of the KFFC location in this release... maybe an oversite?):

"Falcon Aviation Services has named Lidden Pate as CFO, Ray Sluk as Director of Business Development, and Andrea Van Buren as Operations Manager. Sluk is charged with aircraft acquisition for charter and managed operations, and for the flight school. Van Buren will oversee daily charter and maintenance operations, as well as marketing. Falcon offers aircraft charter, maintenance, training and sales at PDK (Dekalb-Peachtree, Atlanta GA) and AHN (Athens GA)."

Hmm, interesting indeed. They are getting a call from me today.

I can't see them leaving FFC though. The traffic count is significantly lower, it is outside of the Class B, and is uncontrolled. They should be able to launch more flights per day out of FFC than PDK easily.

I'll report with what I find out.

Called them earlier this morning.

They are keeping all program training (airline / corporate) at FFC, and will do side add-on training at the other locations.

Total multi aircraft are 3, the two twin stars, and a seminole.

Fuel surcharge only comes into play only when fuel cost is above $4.

I'll have to watch this place closely. Right now I have two goals and both are of equal interest. When I pick the school of choice in April, it'll be the one who can provide me the best corproate career path options for business jets (in my opinion, anyone can get you to a regional effectively but the corporate side is tougher to break into). My two goals at this point are:

1) Flight Instruct at the school I get my ratings at until I find a good 135 charter gig (really my first goal is corporate business jets due to the type of work and flying, but the path seems so undefined with many ways to get there.

2) Flight Instruct at the school I get my ratings at and then get on with either SkyWest or Express Jet since I have no interest in any others at this point in time (I like what I see at both those companies when compared to the other regionals).

I'll know my exact date to visit Falcon, White Air, and SkyMates in about 2 weeks since that's when I'll book flights and hotels for my little research project in April/May. I did decide officially on a Mid July Start date at my choice program. Wow, and I can't beleive I been working at getting to this point since 1998... always wanted to be a pilot, but 1998 is when I woke up and realized if I stay focused I can figure out a plan to get there!
