Xjet - New Scheme - Full Shot

That's one of the ugliest things I've ever seen. 1988 called, it wants it's paint scheme back....

Makes you wonder what the other paint schemes were that did not make the cut. For some reason when I look at that I feel compelled to load it with old people, and send them off to Florida for the winter.

Meh. I like the understated old one better.

This screams freight livery to me but I can't figure out why...

I posted it in the General Topics section too, mods feel free to delete mine.

On a side note, nice paint scheme. I kinda like it.

Billy...

There is no "old" scheme. This is the first true "ExpressJet" livery anyone has ever seen. I know... I know... you are most likely referring to CAL's paint... but then again... that is CAL's paint job... not ours.

Anyway...

- The 80's totally rocked!

- Old people got the buck$!

- Everyone loves their old converse shoes!

;)

Yeah... I dig the new paint. :)

PS: Good or bad... the main thing is it's DIFFERENT. People are going to be seeing something they haven't seen before... and they will remember it. Of course... it will be our job to ensure it's a good memory. Anyway... brand recognition baby! Nobody liked southwest's paint either... but everyone knows a southwest plane when they see it. :)

I don't know if anyone has said this yet but the orange paint color that you see on that plane is the wrong color. What happened was they ordered the wrong paint so they decided to use it up. The real color is more red then that which is a little confusing when everyone sees it for the first time. Beleive me or Beleive me not.

I for one like the colors. Kind of brings back the battleship grey! :rotfl:

Go Navy......

If I remember correctly, Independence Air was saying the very same thing about 2 years ago! I sure hope for your sake that you have better luck than they did.

because its five different colors that noone in there right mind would put together on purpose!

at least on a freight plane its because the panels came off different airplanes, and its all sun faded, and the last time fresh paint was on was back in 1977.

Put a nice coat of dirt and grease on it, spray paint those windows white and itll like right at home on the southramp of hobby at 3a.m.!

;)

LOL! Thanks for the vote of confidence... ;)

However... a few key differences from FLYi:

Different company...
Different plans...
Different city pairings...
Different time in the industry...
Different fleet structure...
Different cost structure...
Different financial backround of company...

Will those differences get us through it? Time will tell.

One thing is for sure though... if you fully understand the FLYi scenario... and are following the XJT scenario from a business perspective... and if you have a true understanding of the industry... then there's really no way you can compare the two.

I was surprised to hear one of the investors make a comparison to FLYi on the quarterly earnings call... these are supposed to be folks who have some understanding of the industry.

Remember... FLYi was an "all or nothing/do or die" scenario... we are utilizing only 16% of our fleet for this start-up. Sort of like getting our feet wet and testing the waters... versus a cannonball dive off the deep end. ;)

So how much did the Miami Dolphins pay for that again?
Don't know off hand... ;)

However... there are some pretty big rumors going around that we should all be watching the Superbowl commercials next weekend. I'm really hoping those rumors are true... :)
