Back to Grand Forks

So is everyone ready to go back to Grand Forks? I really can't wait :sarcasm:.

Had a blast here... flew over the Golden Gate Bridge 3 times, buzzed over Alcatraz and flew close to San Fran and over the Bay Bridge. Lunch at Half Moon Bay was a treat too...good food!
 
Yeah, I flew back in tonight. I almost cried upon landing because I was back in North Dakota. Luckily, TheShocker and Venezuelana were able to console me in baggage claim.
 
I'll never be back again!!!

Houston isn't much better, but at least I can wear a t-shirt this time of year.
 
How does that Bay Tour work, Jace? I've wanted to do it, but never actually gotten up and out there. Are there set tracks, or just stay below the Bravo?
 
was 70 degrees here in maryland yesterday :-P

Half moon bay is awesome, i hit a few golf balls into the water out there last year

I just remained below the bravo, AngelFuree helped me navigate... then he flew on the way back and I navigated. You don't have to follow a specific route. We went wherever we wanted.
 
I get in tonight at 11:30ish.

I heard that we could get about an inch of snow some time later this week. :(

Jace,
when were you in HAF? That is the airport that I did my flight training out of. I do most of my flying when Im home out of Palo Alto (PAO).
 
I've been back since Thursday. I haven't done a dang thing except work. I could be studying for the CFI stage checks or maybe calling up my instructor and getting going again, but I'm having a hard time getting motivated to do that. :(

Sweet pics, but damn the haze. Makes me miss flying around the Chicago area. There's probably more to look at in the bay area though. I'd love to do that some day.

Found a place in Hermosa Beach, moving today in the 80 degree heat is going to be rough! :D

Think I might take some surfing lessons this weekend...oh how I miss GF.
 
I am likely the only one of you guys actually happy to be back.

I went to Arizona this break and it did not feel like home at all. I worked a full time job at Macys over the break to keep me busy. While I can trash ND with the best of them, I feel like this is home.

I also feel like I have unfinished business academically and am excited to get flying again.

I did not realize how much I wanted to get back here until I ran from seperate ends of the MSP airport terminal in 6 minutes barely making my flight. I ran so fast that they had to give me oxygen on the plane because they were worried about me passing out. (long story)

Yeah, fun places w/ a variety of things to do aren't for everyone. I can't blame you for liking ND.
