Stupid unimportant question

So what do you airline guys do if you have to go to the bathroom in flight? If you have a four hour leg or something and have to take a leak can you leave the flight deck momentarily? Something I have always wondered because I have never seen anyone leave the cockpit post 9/11, but I didn't really pay that much attention before it either.

Before I get myself in trouble, can it be talked about from the prospective of a passenger? I've seen them do it a couple times post 9/11. Didn't know it was such a hush hush thing.
 
I don't fly passangers, but my understanding is that nobody that does has been willing to discuss it in the past. At least not here.
 
Geez - it cracks me up, you speak to an English airline pilot they will tell you how to spot the Air Marshals, where they usually sit, what they do, etc. Now that people are not allowed in the cockpit it gives the captain less time to locate the pretty travellers to invite them for drink later - makes it tough on these old boys.
 
They go in the lav on the airplane and there are "procedures" for opening the cockpit door etc.

It's not as convienent as it used to be but can be done.

Jtrain...As fas as people (you know who) that really care about that stuff its not that hard to figgure out.

Im in a BGR-CVG flight in a RJ I see the FO go back for his "walk of shame", but where did the FA go?
 
Oh I'm well aware of the process, but I don't think anybody told me on here and when others have asked, Doug said he wasn't going to talk about it.
 
There are procedures in place to accomodate it.

However, it's usually a lot easier to make sure you always do your PDP. (Pre-Departure Pee.)
 
FAs plop a cart in the aisle so a hooligan can't charrrrge through and gain easy accccccessssssss.

Never underestimate pilots' sneakiness. They'll take a whiz when you least expect it.

It's very easy to spot air marshals. Although a bit tougher now that they don't have to wear the gov't issued blue suit.
 
There is only 1 time I can remember that we had an FAM on board that actually looked like what I pictured a FAM would look like. Mostly they just look like everybody else.

Nobody expects that Spanish Inquisition!
