SKW pay proposal

Naw, there's a BIG difference between how we've discussed this issue on JC and how it's being discussed on FI.

Debating on JC is like a primetime boxing match, whereas debating on FI is like a middle school brawl in the cafeteria.

Flightinfo called; they want their members back.

On a side note, difference in skywest first year pay vs. pinnacle: -$1800.00 ($19 vs $21)

Difference in skywest second year pay vs. pinnacle: $9900.00 ($35 vs $24)

Regional pilots who all work for peanuts (including myself): priceless

But....but....the upgrade time! :)

Got this e-mail today from a friend of mine who's a junior FO on the 'Bro at Skywest.

"It is obvious that the hard work of the Captains and First Officers on the Brasilia is not honored. Some of these routes are very profitable. The dedication of the senior members of this pilot group create a positive attitude as they try to stem off the union and work at making this the best company they can make it. You have essentially told them that their efforts have been in vain."

I think that pretty much sums it up on how hard the 'Bro guys got screwed on this one. Turboprops make money, but they're not going to share in that.

With regards to upgrade, you aren't seat/equipment locked.

That's a good question....isn't the most junior EMB CA a March 06 hire? How'd that happen? It sounds like they're waiving seat lock for qualified folks wanting to upgrade....

I can't really tell, and as yet, I'm still undecided.

As much as it sucks that my Bro buddies got hosed, lets remember that our Bro rates are at the top of the industry, and we did get a provision in the event a larger t-prop comes online. That said, it wouldn't have cost much to give them a symbolic 1% with the -200 folks. And for the record, I'll likely take a Bro upgrade in six months.

I'm more pissed at the lack of change in first year pay and reserve rules.

You should take that 1 percent and whipe your you know what with it.

Come on.

1%? Great, half way to keeping up with inflation.

Then again, it's not like they'd give you more if you vote it down, so........

Wait. . . let me get this straight. . . SKW is non-union, and you guys are going to vote on something?

How does that work? Who is doing the voting?

It's a psudeo-union. I.E. they tell the pilots they get to vote to make them feel like they actually have a say in what they get paid. This "proposal" could pass with a 100% yes vote and the company could still not do anything.
