Ding Dong, the old regime is falling by the wayside.
Bill Leach (DUI poster child), Pete Balesteri and crabby old man Lee Webb got the AX last tuesday! All three were fired at the same time in a crazy diaboical method to keep each of them in the dark. Imagine their surprise when they all saw each other in the UNEMPLOYMENT line! :nana2:

DO I feel bad? NO WAY! Rumor has it BIG changes are ahead for the academy since the Delta airlines last chief pilot took over. This guy isn't screwing around either. They bought new airplanes, spent 4million on sims and have plans for a 27,000sq foot operations center. The way I see it, they'll spend all this money only to lose their shirts by selling it a loss in typical airline fashion.

FWIW, The new president was reaching 60years old and has a house down on Merritt Island so rather than accept the age 60 rule, he still draws a fat check and only has to deal with SLUMVILLE Sanford a few hours a week. :insane:
 
Has Jim O'brien been shown the door yet?? Mr. "Hey that instructor that tried to rip you off by telling others his was short on his check when in reality he gambled the whole thing away, and tried to get you to make it up for him by having you fly extra lessons and bragging about it to fellow flight instructors who came back and told you, that's all in your head, maybe you should have never got out of instrument............" Hey new Prez, hope you are reading this, and remember the name JIM O'BRIEN.
AND DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE GUY THAT TRIED TO GET DOUG FIRED!!! (PLEASE)

Interesting. Balesteri did my IR checkride back in 04. Wasn't aware he jumped from being a DE to the Dark Side.....

Heck Balesteri was at DCA before I started in November 03! He was asst chief at DCA. I think he was DE on the side. Oh man if that's true you were given a checkride my DCA management! :o :sarcasm: I kid
 
John O'brien is waste of space. Pete was a nice guy if you were careful not to piss him off. Pete is also responsible for getting the flight instructors at Riddle in Daytona a union. When he got the job at DCA he signed off on never attempting to establish a union for the DCA instructors. I say grow some stones.
The new pres needs to visit the sales and marketing team to fire all those liars too.
 
I totally agree! John needs to go too. If you want to revamp the system, you need to get rid of the "old guard" so to say. I hope they turn the school around and also make a heartfelt appology to Doug. They burned a bridge with that. Though I am affraid that they will jack the prices up which will suck for students and I hope they can give the instructors a descent pay raise that most istructors receive at other schools. We'll just have to see about that.
 
That will be interesting to watch, Will Doug get an apology? Will O'brien be shown the door? Will instructors get more of a pay raise? Will they lower the overall cost for students? (wishful thinking I'm sure) Will they fire the marketing department?

Oh Snap!!!! Webb, Balesteri, and Leech gone? That place was some piece of work. Is it true that DCA is getting 50 Cirrus planes? If it is true, thank God. I hope with this new movement that the flight instructors get a pay raise. I was there, $10 an hour, good luck guys and gals.
 
I heard they have ordered the Cirrus's's's's.

I also heard that they are paying the instructors a whopping 12.50 now. Now maybe they can eat jelly with their peanut butters!!!!!
