I thought I've heard of a couple of CFI's at UND who did their training somewhere else.
I want to do it for the experience in learning how to teach someone to fly in a busier environment (Class B). This way I can be more well-rounded in my flying experience when applying for a CFI job... whether it be a CFI job in the DC region or some tiny town in Kansas.
It seems a lot of instructors here that have only flown in this area are just scared to death of MSP. My 222 instructor was kinda freaked when I went to St. Paul Downtown Hollman. I was just like, hello I fly around chicago, MSP is a cake walk in comparison. I didn't have that problem in 323 when I did the same flight with a different instructor that flew around MSP all the time. I might be over generalizing, but it seems that instructors are better with experiance flying in busier areas regularly.
