FO in KMKE

Are they usually year-round hirings at this place or just every now and again. And this may be a stupid question but don't burn me too hard.... Is it turbine time or just multi?

They operate turbine powered shorts 330's and 360's, and have a few Falcon 20's.

All are turbine.

From the little I know of the company, they don't run classes every month like the larger "airlines", but do have classes every few months it seems.

Thanks wheelsup. But i mean are they usually hiring or is it one of those "get on the boat now or get left back" kind of deals? Just looking at future options I guess, Gotta keep hopeful :)

I'm not really sure what you are getting at. Like I said, it seems they have classes every few months or so for attrition purposes. From others on this board it seems they have turned pretty competitive with their interviewing/hiring, although I didn't see it. I was called without any walkins and was the only one to show up for the actual interview.

Oh ok, did it seem good when you went or what?

It seemed like an extremely well run and put together company. You don't hear much bad about them, but lots of positives from former pilots. I was hired but didn't accept the class date as I was already in class somewhere else. A lot went into that decision but it had nothing to do with them being a shady operator (because they aren't; they are first class all the way IMO).

Does that type of stuff look as good as a normal regional or is it looked upon lower? What was the average pay hrs for hire (I know theyhave they're minimums but its not always that easy). Anything else you could tell me Wheelsup?

I don't think it's "looked down upon" by any means, and in some ways it actually looks better to have that freight time under your belt, IMO. That being said, with all the research I did on the company, almost all the people left either to the regionals or to supplmental freight companies. One fellow did make it to FedEx I believe. If you know someone who can get you into UPS/FedEx/Airborne then get the posted mins and get the interview.

The pay scale was posted in the first post, 22k-26k. I wanna say the 22k was for the scheduled runs while the 26k was for the 19/9 off charter schedule. CA pay is about double.

You'll be loading your own freight in those planes. I don't remember about the benefits or not - I wanna say no vacation and no medical/dental coverage, at least for the first year. Also no sick days - if you call in sick they dock your pay. I don't think there are any reserves - you are there with the plane at the outstation.

It's the typical freight carrier schedule - fly from the outstation to the hub at night, wait a few hours, and come back in the morning. Same run 5 days a week. Hardly exciting. But you'll get the TPIC box checked.

There are a few folks around here that worked there. Maybe they'll chime in.

What is a 19/9 off-charter schedule? I'm not familiar.

You are available 19 days; then have 9 days off. Those 19 days could be spent flying or sitting in hotel rooms waiting to fly. 45 minute callout. They don't run it like a regional does available "reserve" days - at a regional if you are on reserve and not flying you are typically in domicile on your coach watching TV - at ACC you stay where the airplane last ended up on a trip. You're gone significantly more from home under charter (at least 19 days in a row) but then have 9 days off in a row.

Flightinfo has folks that currently work there; I'd suggest going over there and doing a search in the cargo section.

Hey, has anyone on here applied recently?

Just wondering how long it was from online application to interview, and also if they are hiring into a pool at the moment, then how deep the pool is?

Their website indicates they're not accepting any applications at this time. Previously their Mins were 1500 TT, but they dropped the SIC back to the lowest I saw anywhere- probably 450 TT I think.
I had the Chief Pilot's cell number, but wasn't acquainted- which these days is the only people getting interviews, I think. He indicated that HR had over 600 applications a month ago & I expect that number doubled once word got out.
I talked to a couple pilot's over DFW on 123.45 and they were happy campers. With me, that has more value than just the money- particularly since I want 1400 HP Turbines hanging off each wing. I'm TIRED getting bounced all over the skies in a Banana.
For my next career, I might try Rodeo clown, at least most of those barrels have some padding inside,...

Have a few buddies that either work at or have worked at ACC. One really seemed to like it, the other ended up getting shuffled all over the country (California to Nashville, etc.) and has since moved on. MX seems to be great. Sounds like it's hit or miss as far as maintaining a base, etc.
